I could not find any others with this problem. But sounds like a defect to me. A coil spring should never just break apart like this one did. To break in 3 spots is unreal. I have seen other recalls from Ford regarding coil springs, but they were for the 1999-2001 Taurus. My guess is, this part was 100% faulty. Maybe just ours, but who knows. The coil has to be a defect in the making of it. Could be dangerous if on the highway and this puppy decides to blow up and take out your front tire at the same time.
