E-150 5.4L

I have a 2009 F150 with the 5.4 liter engine. (FX4) I bought it new in 2009 for approx. $44k. It has all the bells and whistles. At about 70,000 miles with the engine warm and at low idle, SOMETIMES, the engine goes out of whack and sounds like a diesel engine. It can get pretty loud too. If I revved the engine, it would go away.

I didn't do anything about it until it got worse and worse. I finally took it to the Ford dealer where I bought it and the guy in the service dept. said he had 3 in the shop just like mine that they were repairing and a forth guy was on hold on the phone contemplating on getting his repaired. This service guy even said that he keeps these parts in stock. That's how busy he gets with these problem engines. He told me it would cost about 4k. He said that this is a defect they had in the design of this 5.4 engine.

What's happening (and Im not a mechanic) is the cam phasers and a few other stuff have worn out and this sometimes causes the engine to go out of timing. If its not repaired it will eventually damage the engine big time.

I complained to this service guy at Ford that this should be a recall from Ford and they should pay some of the cost, if not all of it. He said, "nope"!

I have always had Chevys until I saw this truck and it was an awesome looking truck so I tried Ford.

The next sentence is the most important one for you to read and hopefully follow:

DO NOT BUY FORD VEHICLES! THERE IS A REASON WHY FORD DIDN'T TAKE THE BUYOUT FROM THE GOVERNMENT A FEW YEARS AGO. THEY BUILD CHEAP VEHICLES AND SELL THEM FOR BIG PROFITS!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY FORDS!!!

I'm done.
