heater/A/C vent doesn't operate, it stays on the dash vents

I love my truck but it seems to have issues that shouldn't be happening to a truck like this. Hinges are starting to break and I can't afford to fix them I wish ford would stand behind them better. I'm thinking about going back to the Chevrolet truck.
