For a vehicle under a year old, I would have expected a new engine, radiator and heater core in addition to the hoses. The overheating and cross contamination in the engine and entire cooling system will certainly have lasting effects. I payed way too much money for a new vehicle to have a catastrophic failure at under 20k miles.
Now I will always worry that the vehicle will fail again prematurely due to bearing failure or cooling system problems. Oil is bad in the cooling system and water is terrible on the engine, not to mention the overheating. I have always owned Ford vehicles, but after this I will look at other options in the future.
Ford should have made it right by replacing everything affected. I have read in forums where the engine was replaced and was told that would probably be the case when I had it towed in, but I was informed of the new plan today and I am not happy. I was not even offered a rental car. No new engine, no future business from me. I will be posting my experience anywhere I can find a place to gripe so other people will not experience this.
Update from Jul 11, 2015: So Ford finally gave in and put in a new engine after realizing it was really screwed and wasn't the oil cooler. The manufacturer rep was really no help in getting an extension on my warranty, but the service manager took it upon himself to make it happen. I am now satisfied with this endeavor, but it took a month to get my vehicle back and another month to resolve the warranty concerns.
