problem #2

E-150 FX4 Off Road 3.5L-Liter Ecoboost V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,099 miles

A "worn primary timing chain" is common and a costly failure with the 3.6 EcoBoost pre-Oct 2014. Ford knows about it, has a TSB (17-0026) released to fix it but only if you still have warranty left on your vehicle. Call to Ford for assistance were scripted to the negative.

A recommendation to me is to have it fixed and recover costs in small claims court.

E-150 King Ranch 3.5L Ecoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 91,900 miles

truck loses power and shudders while trying to pass other cars at highway speed. very dangerous situation for all involved. check engine light comes on and flashes for 30sec, then goes out. manual advises to drive without accelerating or braking quickly and to see dealer. did this next morning only to be told no codes or idea what it was. BS if they won`t fix it, when people start turning up dead, maybe this will help make them fix it.
