So I'm driving as normal. Park at a gas station. My boyfriend gets out to go in. I'm sitting there with the car running waiting on him to return. Suddenly a warning light that I have never seen comes on accompanied by a chiming bell = "low engine oil pressure". I tell my boyfriend .. he thinks it may be the engine oil low. (I know this could not be right because I get oil changes routinely from Valvoline.) I try to get it home but noticed the car will not accelerate past 60mph without shaking a sputtering like its about to cut off... I bring it down to 20mph the whole way home and seem to make it. I call a mobile mechanic and he tells me that the oil pump has failed, there is a valve cover leak & I pretty much need A NEW ENGINE... just wow.
This car is the worst decision I've made regarding a car!!! It's slow , and an utter piece of s***... I've had it going on 3 years and I've had probably 6 months of good driving on it IN TOTAL...
In 3 years I've had 2 transmission failures and now an engine failure... RUNN!! Hopefully this helps someone researching.

So I bought this car less than a month ago, and when I was coming home from a trip last week, the engine console started flashing low oil pressure with a warning sound. Moments later, the engine started running extremely rough, and I was forced to pull over as my engine started to lose power. I shut off the engine and checked the oil levels, which were fine. The dealership I had it towed to said it was a pin on the timing belt that broke and they need to rebuild the entire engine - it's over a $10,000 fix. Trying to just get Ford to buy the car back from me but I doubt that will happen. Warning to all 2018 Ecosport drivers once you hit 40,000 miles.

I was driving along Highway 29 when a warning illuminated for Low Engine Oil Pressure. I immediately went to the nearest car repair shop, around 2 miles away. When they checked the engine oil, it was full. I was told to bring to the nearest Ford service center, around 30 miles away.
While driving back, 2 miles after, my started decelerating until the engine stalled. I had to immediately park at the side of the road along Highway 29 and have my ecosport towed. I was later told that my engine and turbo needed replacement. My car just turned 2 years old in October 2020.

I was driving from Omaha, Ne to Austin Tx with my granddaughter. We just got to the outskirts of Ft Worth when my oil pressure light came on and started dinging. I lost the ability to accelerate over 35. Thankfully the interstate wasn't busy at 5:00am and I was able to exit and find a convenient store. I had to wait until 8 to call tow through my extended warranty. After being towed I was later told that I needed a new engine!!! The car only has 71,000 miles and this all happened without any warning. My extended warranty won't cover costs, saying I did not keep up with oil changes. I bought this car in 2020 and 2 weeks later covid hit. For a year it was barely driven. I had covid twice, thankfully recovered without any residual affects and surgery this past summer. Plus I was told with synthetic oil I only needed to change it once a year and warranty company is saying at least 4 times. But that's not the point, Ford knows this is a bad engine and won't do anything for the consumer and that's a shame. I won't buy a Ford ever!!!!!!
