2007 ford Edge, need to stand on brakes just to get my car to stop, wtf, I had all my brakes and rotors changed and that didn't help. Now they are telling me its the brake power booster and can cost upwards to 1000.00 to fix it. really I cant afford this but I almost crashed into the rear end of someone, which could of hurt the person driving that car and myself. what if my kids were in the car. now I see that are 45 + complaints on nsta for the exact same reason, I should have stuck with a Chevy, When re they going to fix this problem when someone gets killed , My baby is 5 he needs his mom. get with it ford fix this problem.

Before I started my truck, I covered the brake and it gave a whistling sound. As I drove my truck the brakes sounded like it was losing a year. I am the original owner of my truck and I have kept my maintenance up. I have under 95,000 miles on a paid off vehicle. My auto mechanic told me to check to see if there were any recalls on this issue because the brakes should not be going at this stage of my ownership. The drive was good but every time I went to stop at a stop sign or a signal light or a crosswalk, I had to drive slow and either try to hit the brake or if I had to hit the brakes suddenly it would be difficult to stop the brakes were very hard & stiff.
This has been a very frightening experience and should be reported to the manufacturer concerning this particular issue. My mechanic says that the cost for this is somewhere in the neighborhood of $300 to possibly $500, and that's just for the part, not the labor.

I noticed that my brake pedal was hard to press & very stiff. I had to use both feet to press on the brake pedal. I had to stay hundreds of feet away from the vehicle in front of me because the brakes were almost not working unless I pressed brake pedal to floor. I was almost unable to press the brake pedal all the way to the floor because of stiffness in the pedal. I nearly crashed several times. If someone had came to a halting stop on the highway and if I was not hundreds of feet away I would have rear ended the vehicle in front of me. Very dangerous.
