The water pump on the 2007 Ford Edge with the Duratec 35 V6 engine is located INSIDE of the engine housing. To reach, you'll have to remove the master belt, wheels, and remove the timing chain cover. The water pump is attached to and behind the timing chain.

This problem was outrageous in labor cost & repair cost ($5,500). Thank god I had a warranty that covered all cost except for the $100 deductible. I noticed there was oil leaking under my vehicle where I parked it. We took it to the repair shop. Mechanic stated that the water pump went bad. Antifreeze & oil were leaking. The leakage caused other parts on the vehicle to go bad. The upper valve gaskets, intake gaskets, right and left chain guides & chains.

When I saw a leak, I took it to a dealer. The water pump leaked into the oil pan and caused the engine to lock up.
