The smell of gasoline vapors were detected when ever the vehicle was parked in the garage. We took the vehicle to the Ford dealer ship and it was determined by a Ford technician that the fuel tank is leaking. The fuel tank is a two piece steel design that is welded together at the seem. The welded joint is corroding and caused the leaking. The vehicle has never been in a accident nor has the fuel tank had any maintenance conducted on it. This fuel tank was an oem part and installed by the oem only. Ford has indicated they do not have any replacement parts available, and do not have a supplier to manufacture replacement fuel tanks.
