The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. While driving approximately 35 mph, a loud humming noise emitted from the rear end of the vehicle. The contact continued to drive. The vehicle was taken an independent mechanic who informed the hub bearing assembly would need to be replaced. As a result of the defect, the vehicle required an alignment and the rear passenger's tire had prematurely worn. The manufacturer was notified and they advised the service warranty expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000. The VIN was unavailable.

The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the dealer replaced both rear hubs. The failure recurred within eighteen months.
