First off, I want to say a $2800.00 water pump job was performed on my 2007 Ford Edge SEP-Plus...by the dealer. What a piece of work. The stupid 2007 to 2010 block design uses the water pump as a timing chain idler pulley inside the engine, so when your water pump goes like mine did, you also get coolant in your oil pan because of this design. To repair this, the motor need to be dropped and 1 & 1/2 days later the mechanic is done at $2800.00. The 2010 blocks are redesigned because of this... Ford should offer assistance for this repair but they do not. I called and wrote to Ford Headquarters, but no response.
Now because the mechanic from Sentry Ford in Medford MA didn't know how to put the car back together correctly, I had to have my AC recharged, my power steering refilled and my engine coolant was low so I had that taken care of TOO... but now I need to keep adding TRANSMISSION FLUID all the time and there's no puddling under the car, so it tells me that one of the lines are loose and the fluid releases during driving or something... Come on FORD... I will not be going to the dealer again just to avoid more problems from Sentry Ford Negligence. I will take it to a local guy that will know what to repair and fix it correctly at half the price...
I have driven Ford all my life, I even built and drag raced a 9 second mustang during the 90's - and let me tell you I will never buy a FORD AGAIN PERIOD. Goodbye Ford... I am done.
