I purchased the 2007 Edge Dec 24, 2015 and I noticed the problem on Jan 4, 2016 as I was going through a parking lot, when I accelerate from around 3-5 mph it jerks. This has been very noticeable and consistent since I bought the vehicle.

Driving down the road, either at highway speed or city streets, the transmission will 'Kick' and go out of gear. I have replaced the Speed Sensor and this fixed the issue for about 6 months before it started doing it again. The only way to reset the sensor, is to turn off the vehicle and restart; not very safe when you're on the Interstate! It has now begun to affect the odometer and will shut the entire car down...again not very safe when driving on the Interstate. Ford states it does not fit a recall because it has not caused any deaths.

Sometimes my truck hesitates as I accelerate, sometimes my truck drives like it's a neutral as I accelerate. I am the only owner of my truck purchased it new off the lot. issue with the transmission is a little scary although my mechanic has done everything possible I've had transmission flush have taken it to have the transmission examined they can find no reason at this particular time for why my truck does this am I alone with problem?

This problem is becoming a nuisance and I need to have it checked without having to pay for the labor. I'm already making payments on this vehicle and I bought it used a year ago and keep it maintenanced regularly. Something needs to be done before it causes a fatality.

It had been obvious when stopping at a traffic light on a slight up-hill incline that the vehicle would begin rolling backwards if you let off the break while in drive. We also noticed that when idling through a car lot looking at cars, every time I lightly accelerate the transmission would have a slight thump or jerk as though a universal joint would have play in it. It doesn't do this some, it does it all of the time. We haven't had it checked at the shop yet. It acts as though if the engine was idled up a bit it would eliminate this problem. But would it? Over all, the transmission seems to work fine, just accelerating from or near an idle we get the initial thump. We are hoping it is not the pump in the transmission. We would definitely regret that. The vehicle would have to be parked too much and it would indicate to me that we paid too much for the vehicle when we purchased it. There is no warranty, we purchased it about two months ago and have not had our first service check-up yet. We plan to do so within the next two weeks.
