The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Lake elsinore Ford (located at 315000 auto center dr, lake elsinore, ca) was contacted and diagnosed that the brake booster failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

I received a recall notice for my VIN# in March 2017; 17S01/NHTSA recall 17V-024; there was a serious defect with my takata passenger-side airbag system (by takata inflators). The notice states: Inflator may rupture in the event of crash necessitating airbag deployment resulting in metal fragments (shrapnel from the dash) striking occupants cuasing serious injury or death. I have grandchildren who ride in my car! my car is absolutely off limits-a death trap, unsafe to drive! I contacted at 13 Ford dealers, each told me there aren't any forthcoming parts, unavailable due to takata's bankruptcy. Ford has repaired some vehicles but not mine and is responsible to take alternate measures to assure me of a safe vehicle! I've spent $32,000 on that "pre-owned" vehicle from a Ford dealership, and another $5,200 in repairs since purchasing and only drove it for 35,000 miles. I regularly maintained & serviced this vehicle. The defects were never detected.

Takata recall. The website says to file a complaint if repairs have not been made in a timely manner. I have 17-year old twins who share the car and it's been over a year since we were notified of the recall, yet parts are still not available. We likely cannot sell the car due to the recall. I'd say this is not timely.

"takata recall" I received the notice from Ford in June 2016. I have contacted my dealer many times over the past year and parts are still unavailable. I have a preteen boy and have to carpool for sports activities. I can no longer have anyone sit in my passenger side seat. Our cars have been knowingly unsafe for over a year. How many people have to be injured or worse before our cars are fixed.
