My 2010 Ford Edge was parked in a parking lot on a sunny day. It was there about one and a half hours. When I got into my car, closed the door, heard a funny noise in the back. I looked and the rear window was completely shattered in addition to two small holes. Nothing hit the window, it was broke.
I see that this has been a problem with this car in the past. I am getting it repair using my car insurance, so I will only be paying my deductible. But wanted to let it be known that there is still this problem with this type Ford automobile. I would send a picture, but I used the car today and most of the remaining window fell out.

The rear window on our 2010 Ford Edge spontaneously exploded while driving down the highway on a warm fall day. I've heard this problem existed with other Ford heated rear windows.
Update from Nov 5, 2016: Had the window repaired.
