This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
The navigation stopped working again after numerous times since the vehicle was new. Usually you take the battery out then put it back in, however, this time, 7.13.17, that did not work so we had to take it in for service. I won't go into the problems with the dealership here, but after many trips to the service dept. and numerous calls, my navigation is still not working and cuts out and says it is loading. However, on our trip to Ohio it loaded the whole time we were traveling, which was about 6 hours. I was alone on a trip to our nearest city and it cut out before the exit I was supposed to get off. I'm a country girl, not used to the city so thankfully my husband had programmed his Garmin for my trip.
The service dept. said they couldn't do anything about it because it didn't happen when they drove it. They suggested I video the screen the next time it happens. That will be difficult and dangerous while I'm driving.
Except for the first time it quit, my husband did all the battery taking out and reinstalling, we never bothered the service dept. at our dealership. Needless to say, I am fed up with the Edge and with our dealership.

We were on a trip driving in snow, sleet, and rain in an unfamiliar city and our navigation went blank and would not come back on which made for a very dangerous situation. Sync card reinsertion did not work. We had to find a dealership , very (inconvenient). Taking the battery out and putting it back in worked this time.

I took the problem of the Navigation system warning that there was no GPS constantly, three times, each time they said they fixed the problem but they never did. Then the warranty ran out and they told me I would have to pay for the repair. What a complete rip off, they keep sending me emails to buy a new Ford, they must like thinking they can screw there customers and we will come back for more, not this girl. I had had so many problems with my Ford Edge, sorry Ford should have built a better car!

I have reported this 1 time every year since we've had the vehicle. A $40,00.00 plus vehicle should not be having this occur all the time. This can lead to a very dangerous situation as with what happened to us on our 1st trip with our new vehicle in 2011.
