hcu failure hcu failure

Ok Now going on for nearly a year. Ford has failed to fix the Brakes Correctly on our Ford Edge. We have now 5400 dollars spent on this and Ford refuses to work on car anymore and has not fixed the problem and will not refund our money for a car that is dangerous to drive. The have replaced HCU unit twice , antilock unit once, brake lines once, pads and rotors twice . We have had 3 sets of pads and rotors on vehicle in 3400 miles. This is because the HCU unit will not release brakes and keeps frying the pads and rotors.

I still believe Ford has put in faulty HCU units from the factory.

Now Ford refuses to work on car and refuses to refund money for brake job/jobs that has never fixed the problem.

Update from May 16, 2023: Charged me for unauthorized repair of replacing brake line hoses

Was only able to upload 7 of the 15 invoices to fix a problem that has not been fixed.

We have replaced the booster twice, HCU unit twice , Anti lock unit once, Pads and rotors twice in 3k miles due to the HCU unit not releasing brakes and causing brakes to glow red since it happened at highway speeds. Now they tell us it the Steering control column sensor problem. The brakes are still not fix and the new sensor problem they want another 400 dollars to fix. This brake problem started June of 2022 and has not yet been fixed.

Vehicle is back at Ford and still not fixed. We are on our 3rd HCU unit and it also seems to be bad out of the box. It has burnt up another set of pads and rotors front and back. 1-800 Ford has refused to do nothing. We have at least 11 phone calls in and and have ask for a supervisor and still have been told we do not cover normal wear and tear parts. We have explained that the faulty HCU units have been burning up the pads and rotors and they just don't give a sh*t.

What started it off was a bad brake booster in June of 2022. Ford had place an extended warranty of them 10 years or 150k miles which ever came first. 10 years came first and we were out of warranty by one month. Ford refuse to pay for it still.

This is our daughters car . We gave her our car to drive since the Ford Edge was what I consider a new mom with a baby to dangerous to drive.

Car at independent shop for brake booster failure. Mechanic changed booster and master cylinder but still has brake pedal going to floor with soft pedal. Now said that HCU has a sticky bypass valve and needs to be replaced.

This problem is under recall for other models/ years. FMC said my vehicle isn't covered.

HCU causes brakes to fail to stop and fail to respond to emergency braking action. No warning and no DTC codes or warning lights. This is extremely dangerous. Near accident avoided by pulling to side of road and slowly was able to stop the car.

Parts to repair not available for over 6 months.

HCU needs to be covered by recall and 1 time owner reimbursement.

I tried to get appointment at two different dealers to repair brakes and they did not even call me back.
