The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. While driving at approximately 65 mph and accelerating, the contact noticed an exhaust smell emitting from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics four different times. The technicians stated the smell was caused by fuel bypassing the catalytic converter. The technicians stated there was no repair to resolve the smell emitted in the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 1,695. Updated 9/13/11 the mechanic at the dealer was also able to smell the exhaust fumes inside the vehicle. Updated 10/28/11
