This check fuel inlet valve came on one day after filling up my car. This light would stay on until I would fill up again (I fill up once a week), then it may or may not come on. It appears the flap inside the fuel neck (the place where you put the nozzle when fueling) is sticking in the upright (open) position. I tried pulling the fuel nozzle in and out many times but still the light stayed on. I figured, well It would only let my gas evaporate quicker. Well, that is not all it did. Now my engine light stays on all the time, and the car feels hesitant and kind of jerks while I am traveling up any size of incline, or If I give it gas to pass a vehicle the amber engine light will flash continuously. What damage is really happening to my car?
