I believe the sunroof package to be defective as well as the electric system that is connected to the systems. I have brought the issue up with the dealership and they did not perform a proper diagnostic on the part to report any issues. I believe this is a safety issue as the windows and back gate open without prompt. I don't use the sunroof because it hasn't opened since a short time after my purchase. When the sunroof opened I tried to close it and the element that closes it popped above my head and threw the panoramic glass off the track. I took the vehicle in to point of purchase and they did not perform a proper diagnostic on it to tell me whether it was safe to close or not. So if this could be resolved I would appreciate it. When I went online to trouble shoot a solution or cause I found similar cases of issue with the panoramic sunroof components. Thank you.

My 2012 Ford Edge continues to alert as I am driving that my driver side door is ajar when in reality it is not. I have video of this because it distracts me as I am driving due to the red alert posted on the panel along with the high pitch beep/alarm as the warning. I than have to continually hit the reset button with my left thumb in order to silence the warning until it starts all over again within seconds. While researching this problem, it seems that it is very common within these Ford vehicles. It would be greatly appreciated if this could be addressed as a recall. This has been a problem with my vehicle for many months now. One stage observation is that the aforementioned malfunction becomes occurs much more often once the temperature outside exceeds 65 degrees or higher for some reason.
