When backing down the hill of my driveway two mornings in a row, my brakes would not stop my car until after I had pumped them many times. Finally the car stopped prior to entering the street. I took it into the dealership and described these symptoms but after having my car for a day, they said they could not "recreate" the problem. I am totally afraid to drive this vehicle now as I don't want the 3rd time the brakes fail to be the time someone is injured or killed.
It seems this is not a new issue by the number of complaints described in this website concerning this problem. What is Ford waiting for?

Disappointed that I should have such a problem with only 40,000 miles on the car. I have never had a car have this problem before. With this exception, the car performs very well but, obviously, a braking problem is a major concern.
Update from Dec 16, 2016: Problem is caused by a tear in the brake booster diaphragm which causes mushy brakes. It is a warranty covered repair if your Ford is less than 10 years old or has less than 150,000 miles from the warranty start date, whichever occurs first. Repair was fairly quick but the mushy brakes remained until I brought it back to the dealership the following day and had to pay $142 to have the brake fluid flushed, refilled and bled of air. I'm not very happy about the added expense resulting from Ford's defective product.
