It-??s dangerous to drive this way. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

I was driving home from work, goin 45mph approaching active railroad crossing, my vehicle started to misfire & went from 40- 20 mph, luckily I stopped before the tracks bcz as soon as I did the lights came in for a train. My car could have broke down on the tracks if I didn't stop. So while waiting for the train to pass, I turned my car off and back on to see if it was just a random but it continued to misfire and when it was safe for me to tcross the trax, I was able to make it but my vehicle would get to10mph. I pulled over & had my vehicle towed to the ciocca dealership, which it has been for the last month bec apparently the power train control module malfunctioned and burt out 3 out of 6 coils. The repairs for this will cost me over $4000 which is not something I can afford. I have a "power train" warranty that won't cover a faulty defective "power train control module""? matter of fact, it won't cover anything at all to help ease my cost. And the worst part, I have only owned this vehicle for 1 1/2 years. Not even 2 years. This car was a issue from the moment I drove it off the lot and now since I can't afford to pay for the defective module....the dealership says to me, I should just reconsider this car all together bcz it needs a lot done for inspection this month...?? like I owned it for not even 2 years..I have 4 more years on a loan that they won't pay off so I can but another car" how does this even fall on me when I was sold piece if junk with a pretty face basically.. I was out into a unsafe predicament due to a faulty defective module that malfunctioned in the middle of me driving with no warning what so ever. Ford and the dealership I purchased not from(not the dealership I towed it to) have been completely 110% unhelpful..like they won't even return my phone calls and when I call they leave me on hold for hours until I hang up and call back.

First the master cylinder went, then the brake booster and now the hydrolic control unit. Eachpart more expensive thenthe last and the last being $2119.20 to repair. The entire braking system, parts I was told should not break. I have been told, by a reputable mechanic that often when replacing the brake booster, the lines are improperly bled andair gets into the hydraulic system. Upon farther research on line into the issue, there are page after page of the same complaint.

I was driving home from work when my car suddenly lost power and started to shake. I was driving on a suberban street and was literally at a active railroad crossing when it happened. So I stopped the car. I was able to drive it slowly to a safe place to pullover. The car was spitting out fire chunks out of the exhaust. I had no idea what was happening. I had it towed to the dealership who explained the power train control module malfunctioned wich cause it to melt/seize the coils in 3 if the cylinders. I have a power train warranty but was told none of it would be covered? when researching this issue it seems to be a very common issue with this model of vehicle. Its not only a safety issue, but it's a known defect with Ford vehicles, not just my make and model. I am extremely upset bcz I can not afford the costs it will take to repair. I owned this car for less than 2 years. I take it it and have it routinely serviced. There was nothing I could have done to prevent this. It's a defect and it is a unsafe defect. I was in the middle of driving and it just happened out of nowhere.

Leaking (ptu) power transfer unit on 2012 Ford Edge with 49,032 miles on it. There are multiple complaints about this problem and Ford will not refund the customer until it is decided that it should become a recall. Even the local dealership recommended that Ford be contacted for a reimbursement of the problem. I have a video from the dealership, but no photos.

Takata recall. My vehicle is experinceing the same thing listed in recall #14V393000 for the same year, make, and model of my vehicle. However my VIN does not meet the recall. The halfshaft and linkshaft become disengaged while driving and power is no longer be transmitted to the wheels. I was driving on the interstate when this accured forcing me to pull of. Once in park the vehicle shakes. Turn the engine off. Wait a minute or two and start it back up and it runs fine. This has accured 6 times in the last year.

I was out running errands and everything was fine. Left a store to pick up my daughter from practice and had to stand on the brakes to get the vehicle to stop at a red light. This was after stopping fine at the previous three stores and numerous lights I encountered. This issue continued for the next 15 miles of lights and traffic, until I got home. I did stop at an O'reillys auto parts on my way home and checked the brake fluid level, which was full. I have parked the vehicle and have been driving my son's Jeep for the past three days. I have an appointment to drop the Edge off at williamsburg Ford, williamsburg, va, on 3/28/19. I have researched this issue and evidently there is a customer satisfaction program announcement of a brake booster issue covered under an extended warranty (13N01) and have read more than 130 other people have experienced issues identical to mine. Not understanding why this is not a recall due to the nature of the failure being brakes!!!!!!! failure occurred at 69,536 miles on odometer. I have also recently had an issue with hard shifting from park to drive. I feel and hear a clunk when shifting and taking off from being parked.

While driving I lose power and can no longer accelerate. The problem is that the halfshaft retention circlip may not have been properly installed. As a result the halfshaft may move outward and disengage from the linkshaft while driving and without warning. If this occurs, power will no longer be transmitted to the wheels, increasing the risk of a crash.

  • 26,000 miles
After pulling out in traffic on 1/15/18, going about 50 mph, my 2012 Ford Edge suddenly lost power and the wrench warning light appeared. I had to shut the car down and restart it several times to slowly get it out of traffic - each time the wrench warning light appeared and the vehicle lost power. Finally, after getting out of traffic I shut it down and let it sit for a few minutes, restarted it and this time the AWD warning light appeared but my car is not an AWD vehicle. Then the wrench light appeared again. Had it towed to the local dealer. They couldn't find any computer memory record of what happened and had their technician drive it home to see if the problem duplicated itself. It did not. After 3 days at the dealership they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle and I picked it up and drove it home. I should add that my vehicle has only 26,000 miles on it. In reading these complaints mine is not the only complaint about this issue and Ford needs to figure out and repair those vehicles affected by this problem. This is definitely a safety issue!

Vehicle suddenly stops going, no acceleration. Happens without warning, forcing you to get off the road. Must shut off vehicle and restart. Creates a very hazardous situation where you can be traveling on the interstate going 65 mph & suddenly have no power! engine is running but there's no acceleration whatsoever. My warranty just ran out & I have less than 36000.0 miles on this car! only happens when you're traveling which means you have no way of preparing & puts your life in jeopardy.

2012 Ford Edge rapidly loses acceleration and comes to a stop. The engine remains running, but the accelerator will not increase speed. It causes a serious safety hazard as the car will go from 60 to zero in seconds. Driver must find a safe place to pull over, (sometimes impossible) to stop engine and restart to continue on. Problem is intermittent. Repair at Ford says throttle body is the problem and it is happening on 2011-2105 Ford. Ford does not care and will not pay for the repair if you are out of warranty. This has happened four times in the last two weeks. Very dangerous.

Issue - 'shift to park' warning indicator is shown when the vehicle is parked and the shifter is in the 'P' position. Doors cannot be locked and internal/external lights remain on while in this 'shift to park' position draining the battery. While foot brake pedal is engaged, shifting away from 'P' and back to 'P' sometimes registers the vehicle as in the correct park position. Repeat until warning message is gone. The vehicle is stationary on a flat surface but I am not sure if the vehicle is really parked since it's warning I'm not but the shifter is in the 'P' position. I dare not try this on a hill--and always the brake pedal engaged while I'm fiddling with the hand shifter. When did this happen? at least 4 times a week for a year.
