Back in April my husband went out and bought me this nice limited edition Ford Edge for an early Mothers Day gift. During the time from purchase up till the last week in May I was always on the go with my grandmother in hospice and then passing away on mothers day. The last week in May my kids and myself were driving home around 9pm one evening and all of a sudden the steering started to get very hard all of a sudden. I was on a busy interstate seeing is how I live close to a military base. I called my husband and had him meet me somewhere so he could get the Edge and I get in the other car because I just couldn't handle the steering.

We took it into Rivertown Ford the following day to only go rounds with them that the power steering was not covered under any kinda warranty. After having many conversations with the service manager they got the power steering hose (which supposedly needed to be replaced) covered but there was a $100.00 deductible.

After they got the Edge fixed I went and picked it up the next day (Friday) and the following day (Saturday) I had to go back to Rivertown Ford because whoever worked on it did not put power steering fluid back in.

After about 2 weeks the power steering went out again and we took it back to Rivertown Ford and they stated that the O-Ring needed to be replaced because it didn't hold. Ok that was fine with me I just wanted my car fixed. Picked up the car after replacing the O-Ring and what do you know it went back in for the same problem.

Once the last repair was done it held up for a few months and now the power steering is having the same issues. Now my husband and I are being told that the power steering pump needs to be replaced and it will cost $700 to fix and its not covered under any type of warranty. I have taken it to another mechanic that I know and they stated that it doesn't appear to be the power steering pump that its possible whoever worked on it tightened the O-Ring down to tight which caused the problems. He didn't do any work to it because ford was the last one to work on it. If this is the same problem that I have been having with my car since about a month after purchasing it you would think Rivertown Ford would cover the repairs.

It's just amazing how they can get you to spend $30,000 for a car and then when something is wrong with it they don't wont to cover the parts just say this is whats wrong and the price. I will never in my life use Rivertown Ford ever again here in Columbus Georgia nor will I recommend them to anyone I know looking for a car.

We purchased TWO Ford Edge 2012. The steering problem has occurred on both of these cars several times. We have another Ford Edge 2010, and one Ford Explore 2013, but they don't have this problem. So we think the 2012 EDITION share the same problems and is supposed to be recalled.

The first time was in 2013 when the steering has noise and was hard to control. We took it to the nearest dealer's store to repair. They told us the steering liquid has been run out. The second time was in 2014, but it did not occur all the time. Now the problem comes again. We totally lose our patience and tolerance.
