Backed out of driveway and had to pump/floor brakes to get stopped! on main street in front of a school! new brakes had been put on a couple months prior. Had them checked by mechanic that put them on.

The power brake booster has failed at 69000 miles. This failure is consistent with failures Ford has fixed on the Ford Edge manufactured prior to March 28, 2013. My car was manufactured in may of 2013. I do not feel that Ford resolved the issue with the brake booster failure. This creates a dangerous driving condition with the large amount of pressure required to stop the car. In several cases, I was unable to stop the care safely. Ford issued a service notification for the vehicles manufactures prior to March 28, 2013, - 13N02. I feel that the issue was not addressed and continues past that date.

When coming to a stop light my breaks became spongy and hissing when pressed and is hard to push down as if I had no breaks at all and air was coming out of them. I was not prepared for this. I had my kids in the car but luckily I was going the speed limit and was away from any other cars. My kids were in the car with me so it added a little anxiety for me. This happens now all the time. I called the Ford dealership they said it sounded like the break booster they asked for my VIN since the 2013's have been recalled. He checked it and said yes yours was recalled so we made the appointment. I dropped it off then an hour later they called me back and said I am sorry but they have not recalled the Ford Edge with my VIN as of yet just the vins before mine and I would have to pay to have it fixed and to come pick it up which I did since that didn't seem ok to me? how does that happen its the same problem. This is unsafe and definitely a big problem the Ford dealerships are seeing. The Ford manufacture knows of this issue so I am not sure why they are not taking ownership and fixing all the cars.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. While driving approximately 40 mph, the brake booster power seized and the driver was unable to stop the vehicle immediately. The contact took the vehicle to denton Ford (located at 1207 double hills rd, denton, md 21629, 877-861-7041) where it was diagnosed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The technician stated that the brake booster was out of warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that nothing could be done. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

While putting on the brakes and turning, the brake pedal went all the way down and stayed like this for quite some time. It still brakes but it pulls to the right when done so. It is very annoying, but it is a safety hazard. I heard there was a recall on this action but when I took it to the dealer they said it was not covered. This is definitely a factory defect and I would hate to get in a court action with Ford if anything happens. This mystery happened twice so far.

When I go to put my car I park and take my foot off the break the car will roll forward several feet or if I am on a hill it will roll backward several feet. When I am driving on the highway the car will just stop accelerating at 80mph. The problem started as just sounding like air pressure was releasing from the break peddle. Before I could get it into the Ford dealership the breaks started locking up in the break peddle to where I couldn't stop safely and feel comfortable transporting my self or my 11 year old daughter. I also in the same two days was at a stop light and the break under my foot slowly pushed up at a red light 30 seconds or so, and then locked and my car turned off while it was in gear. This, all apart of the recall, I'm being told is my problem not theirs, because my car was "born" or made only 5 months after they thought they fixed the problem with th new cars being manufactured. I am going to fight back and investigate this to the bitter end. I want a safe car. It has 74,000. Miles on it, a break issue is a huge issue. That's the difference in life and death.

I began to notice a whistling sound when I step on my brakes after starting but before moving. In addition the brakes felt spongy when stopping. I googled the symptoms and came up with Ford service bulletin 13N02 concerning tears in the brake booster membrane. The dealer indicated my vehicle was not part of the campaign even though it is a 2013 Edge. I would like to see this service campaign extended as the there appears to be affected Edges outside the current VIN # that are having the same issue as those covered under 13N02

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle failed to stop. The contact had to apply excessive force to the brake pedal in order for the vehicle to stop. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The failure recurred numerous times. In addition, the contact had to use the automatic gear shifter in order to downshift. The vehicle was taken to ken grody Ford (6211 beach blvd, buena park ca 90621, (714) 521-3110) and stated that the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the diagnostic and repair fees. The manufacturer was called and informed the contact that the issue would be escalated to ken grody Ford. No further assistance was offered. The approximate failure mileage was 57,700.
