Unexpected loss of power and wrench and parking shift messages shown on my SUV display. On 03312018 my Ford Edge sport AWD 2013 surprised me when an unexpected loss of power happen during an slow motion in a secondary road. Unable to manage my vehicle I stop at the nearest gas station using the slope backwards in neutro shift until reach the gas station behind me. Then when stop I began to read vehicle book and shut down the vehicle as recommended. After 30 mins I restart the vehicle and the loss power disappear reason why I decide to return back to my home. When I enter to the consumer report page from my pc at home to request info for any recall for this vehicle I find out that a recall number exist for this type of SUV. The recall number is 14S10 since august2014 but I never has been advised. Few month ago I went to the dealer for a review of a problem but they did nothing and said that the vehicle was in perfect condition avoiding their responsibility to tell me about any recall for this problem. I still experimenting the same situation since 03312018, risking my life and the life of other people in the road as my SUV continues without losing power but taken the pertinent precaution. I still very worry as the consumer report stated that in addition this failure may cause the vehicle to roll away if the parking brake is not applied despite the transmission being placed in park.

When I go to put my car I park and take my foot off the break the car will roll forward several feet or if I am on a hill it will roll backward several feet. When I am driving on the highway the car will just stop accelerating at 80mph. On several occasions I was trying to get around a truck and the car just stopped accelerating almost causing an accident.

While driving, there is a sudden loss of engine power, the engine light and wrench light indicator come on and the car slows down to a crawl with limited acceleration, more like idle speed. The situation happens 1X-2X per week. After turning the car off and then restarting the car will run normall. This has happens at random times with no other influences like weather. It is extremely unsafe to be in the car when this situation occurs. You are immediately put into unsafe driving conditions with the potential to cause traffic issues. Even more freightenin is you become a target to be in an acccident if others are not paying attention to you sudden loss of speed.

I was slowly turning right into a gas station when my vehicle died. The steering froze and nothing worked. Thankfully I was able to coast into the gas station where I put the car in park, turned it off, and then back on. It started fine. If I had been on the highway, I would be dead!!!! this is incredibly dangerous!!!!

A yellow wrench light warning comes on the dash. When that happens the vehicle loses all acceleration power. You have to limp the vehicle the to the side of the road to turn the engine off and then start it back. This is a very dangerous situation when in traffic. I feel this could cause a wreck. I am concerned about my safety as well as other peoples safety. This has happened at least 10 times in the last 10 days. I took the vehicle to the local Ford dealer. They replaced the throttle body and informed me that this was not covered under any warranty or recall. I know that other Ford vehicles have this same issue

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. While attempting to accelerate from a complete stop, the vehicle's speed reduced and would only accelerate to 4 mph. A wrench warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and turned off the engine. When the vehicle was restarted, it returned to normal. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (pines Ford Lincoln located at 8655 pines blvd, pembroke pines, fl 33024; (954) 443-7000) where it was diagnosed that the electric throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted at 866-436-7332 and stated that the VIN was not included in a recall. Case number: Cas12510115 was provided. While driving on the highway (doing 70 mph) my vehicle randomly stalled out. I was forced to coast to a stop, pull over, and turn my car off and turn it back on to begin driving again. It later happened an hour later at a stop light while making a left hand turn and then again at the next light on the road. After looking up possible problems, it was found that countless others with the same vehicle have the same stalling problem while driving. This creates a serious and dangerous risk for drivers on the road. I have an appointment to have the Ford dealership look at my vehicle, however from others who have spoken on their experiences with the same problem, the dealership states that they cannot "recreate the problem". thus sending the customer on their way stating that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. Just 1 of the many forums where others voice the same problem. This vehicle must be recalled before a serious accident or death occurs due to Ford's negligence.

Twice now within two days, my wife or I have been driving along at 20-30 mph through the neighborhood and the vehicle has lost propulsion. I say this because the motor stays running, but doesn't accept input from the gas petal. Service wrench comes on, but vehicle diagnostics come back ok. Turn vehicle off, cranks up and drives fine. The interwebs says its a throttle body issue.

This issue started a little over a year ago. I would be driving on the freeway or street and all of a sudden my maintenance light would come on, my car would begin to shake/rattle and all of a sudden I could no longer accelerate. If I could, I would pull over, sometimes I had to stop in the middle of the intersection on an incline and completely shut my car off. I would wait a few seconds and it would start back up and run no problem. I took it into 1 Ford and they couldn't find the problem. I took it into a 2nd Ford earlier this year in March and they claimed they found the issue. I spent over $1,000 replacing throttle body and fuel filler neck, which they claimed had a leak in it and was causing the problem. Since then, I haven't had any issues, until yesterday. Again, I was driving home from work and my maintenance light came home, car started shaking and could no longer accelerate. This is a major safety concern as I'm afraid every time I make a turn in front of oncoming traffic that my car is going to lose power and I'm going to get T-boned. I've read on carcomplaints.com that many other people are having this same issue. It's only a matter of time before Ford has a big lawsuit on hand. They better fix this!

Car will stall and go into limp mode, yellow wrench appears on left hand display. This has happened twice within the last 3 months, once in the middle lane of a rush hour freeway travelling at 40mph. I was lucky to get across to the shoulder before I lost all momentum. No response when pushing the accelerator, engine shakes badly. Have to restart the car in order to continue travel. All research points to faulty electronic throttle body. Ford service center advisers agree but refuse to perform repair under warranty as there are no codes. The codes get wiped after restarting the engine.

Purchased this vehicle March 29, 2016. Less than 2 months later the vehicle started randomly stalling and going into limp mode and I had to pull over on the busy DC highway with 2 small children in the back which was extremely dangerous. The check engine light and a wrench light came on but it cut off after a restart. Auto zone couldnt read the codes unless the car was malfunctioning at the time which happens randomly. Since the car is still within the powertrain warranty I took it to the Ford dealership and they diagnosed it as P2111 electric throttle body failure. The advisor agreed that this has been a common problem in Ford models and I read that a consumer safety program was started for other Ford models with the exact same problem. The advisor said it is not covered by the powertrain warranty and since there is no recall for this problem with Ford Edges I have to pay $800+ dollars to have it repaired. This is outrageous. Apparently someone has to lose their life before Ford issues a recall on this known issue. I hope the NHTSA steps in before something tragic happens! ive attached a picture showing the lights on the dash after about the 10th time the car stalled.

While the vehicle was in motion, driving down a state highway, it stopped responding to pressure on the accelerator.a light on the dash advised me to check the manual. I had to pull off the road, turn off the engine, then restart it, which reset the throttle an allowed me to continue home. This process was repeated three times on the interstate on my way to work. I had the same problem in January, when the dealership couldn't find the problem, and sent me home in a faulty vehicle, only to have it delivered to them via tow truck a day later, resulting in them replacing the throttle body. Five months later, I have the same problem, but the car is out of warranty, so they wont replace it. They do, however want to charge me a $120 diagnostic fee, after I told them exactly what the problem was. This has put my life in danger a total of six times, to date. It is a known problem. There should be a recall.

When turning into a drive way at low speeds the power steering gave out and the breaks and gas pedal were not responding and the low oil pressure to engine message came on the dash. I turned the car off and gave it a few minutes, and when I turned it back on and had it towed to a dealer they couldn't find any code nor could they replicate the problem after having for 3 days. I am worried if this happens again and at higher speeds like when on the highway. I have researched that Ford had similar issues with the throttle body on other models and years but not the 2013 Edge. This needs to be addressed.
