Throttle body malfunction. Driving at 45mph car suddenly slows to 2 mph. Shut off car start again, same thing happens. Wrench light comes on. Ford has extended warranty coverage on earlier Ford Edge models but does not on the 2013 Edge. This is the identical problem and repair ( Ford service diagnosed) at a cost of $600. Very dangerous problem to occur suddenly slowing to a crawl in fast moving traffic. Should have been a recall.

My car will all of a sudden stop excels rating at high speeds. The rpms increase as the speeds decreases. The Ford dealerships can not figure it out as it has to be doing it. It can happen 30 minutes into driving and then maybe 1.5 hours is, there is no consistency. It has happens for the past year. And now tracing for the past summer it is very anxious driving this car. I am not sure my car was cleared really with all the recalls.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaking fuel. The vehicle was taken to raymond Chevrolet (118 il-173, antioch, il 60002, (800) 989-5939) where they stated there was a lifetime warranty on the fuel pump module, filler hole, and fuel tank, which were replaced. After the repair, the fuel gauge failed to provide accurate readings. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, which resulted in a dispute about whether or not the fuel gauge indicator was damaged by the mechanic. The dealer threatened to charge the contact for the repairs. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 220,000.

My vehicle shutters several times when.moving in.motion. Then warning.comes on check fuel inlet while in.motion. Then moments pass and the vehicle shuts off automatically and in drive. Then I panic.

July 21, 2019 driving along on a 35 mph road and car just stopped accelerating when pushing gas pedal. Wrench indicator appeared and had to put car in neutral to safely pull over. Car did restart after shutting off. Same incident happened an hour later going the same speed. We researched and found the numerous other Ford Edge same complaints that the throttle body was in need of replacement. Had it replaced and car is running smooth with no problems. This was a very scary and concerning issue. I can't imagine being on the expressway like others have experienced. Ford make this right and put out a recall.

Fuel filler neck continues to cause check engine light to come on. Check fuel inlet message also appears on dash. I know that there has been a recall for my make and model not sure as to why my vehicle was not included.

When stepping on the gas pedal the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle would not die but would not move. The check engine light came on. This happened on multiple occasions once in highway traffic and once at a busy intersection. The dealer told me it was a known problem and that there was nothing I could do to cause the problem or prevent it. Dealer replaced the throttle body assembly for $524

Fuel leak put gas and five minutes later the tank is half empty

There is a leak/crack in the fuel neck. Every time I refuel the vehicle, it will not start right away. After a minute it will start. The dealer recommended I spend $600 to replace it. Also, driver window is scraping when it goes up and outside decorative panel paint is fading.

Driving 45 mph when the engine lost power and a wrench icon light came on. Engine was idling roughly and accelerator would not work. Vehicle was towed to a dealer and service department could find no trouble codes and could not replicate the problem. The next day this same issue happened again at around 45 mph on a highway.

Check engine light came on. Took it to vehicle service station and code P0299 came up. That is the code to replace turbocharger assembly. The vehicle is only 6 years old and under 100K miles. This issue should not be coming up on a vehicle that is not that old

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. While driving various speeds or while the vehicle was stationary, there was a strong odor of fuel detected inside the vehicle and the ignition fuel warning indicator illuminated. The contact also mentioned that the passenger side door ajar warning indicator illuminated when the door was completely closed. Furthermore, the passenger door did not lock. The vehicle was taken to jordan Ford (13010 I-35, live oak, tx 78233, (210) 653-3673) where it was diagnosed that the fuel line needed to be replaced before it caught fire. Also, the half shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V002000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.

The dash area where the passenger air bag is located has begun to crack. The entire right side of the air bag square has separated. Also, when stopping the vehicle at a stop light, in traffic, etc., there is a strong odor of gasoline, especially if the fuel tank is less than full.

Pto unit has begun leaking oil. This is a well-documented issue that Ford refuses to address. The unit has not failed as of yet, but all research shows that I will be required to have critical repairs performed or I might face a safety issue while driving at highway speeds. This issue is not repairable as the unit is a maintenance free part and has no ability to be maintained by normal repair processes.

My daughter left for work at 6 in the morning, it was minus 25/30 with the wind chill. She went to make a left turn on to a main state truck route and the car started to shake and shutter and lost all power. The engine light came on too. After the car quit completely it then was restarted. It continued to act up. A friend checked it and his computer was showing codes for the throttle body and sensors. It is now at the dealership. I called Ford and was told there is no recall or extended warranty for the issue. I was told they would note my complaint and if it is ever recalled or ok'd for and extended warranty then they would let us know and she could be reimbursed. We live off 2 state truck routes that are heavily traveled, but as she is a young female at dark with a vehicle that is dark and the road is icy and its cold enough that schools and places have shut down and people have died from exposure in this, I will not lose a child because Ford is to lazy to pull their head outta their keister and start thinking old school again and consider their customers. Fix the issue! don't sweep it under the rug because its easier than facing your "new style" vehicles have issues. I have no use for Ford. My Expedition, my aunts Expedition and her daughters escape all did this exact same thing. At this moment we are waiting to hear from the dealership as to what is going on. If this site allows me to update I will. She was going approximatly 30 mph and as she pressed on the gas peddle it slowly died.
