Edge SEL V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200 miles

Purchased new 2014 Ford Edge SEL in February of 2014 & 1 month later on March 12, 2014 at 200 miles, I tried to start it, it shuddered & wouldn't start. Had it towed to the Ford dealership where purchased from and they diagnosed a bad purge valve which they replaced at no cost due to being under warranty.

One year later on June 3, 2015 at 9110 miles, I was in bumper to bumper traffic when engine shuddered again & shut down. Continued to restart it, drive a few yards & shut down again. Managed to do this til I got off the highway and into a parking lot. Had it towed to Ford dealership & once again they said it was bad purge valve & replaced it for the 2nd time. By this time I realized Ford is not reliable & traded it in immediately for a 2015 Lexus RX350. I've driven Toyota for 25 years and never had an issue.
