1st occurrence was when I was driving on the interstate and the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating and went into limp mode (a wrench was displayed on the dashboard). I was not able to accelerate at all and had to pull off the interstate. Turned off the vehicle and turned it back on and the wrench and check engine light was off. This now occurs every day and is a safety issue, it happened when I was making a turn at a busy intersection and almost ended up in another driver hitting me as I had no power to accelerate out of the way. In researching the issue I believe it is due to a faulty throttle body control but am unable to diagnose it since the check engine light and thus error code goes away with every restart...at the very least it should tell me what the last error code was.

My car has completely shut off while driving 70 mph on the highway!! a wrench icon lights up on the dash board. I can barely coast to the side of the road before car comes to a complete stop. I was sooo afraid of being killed! the mechanic checked and says there is nothing wrong with my car. It has happened 4 more times. The car starts up after I can put it in park and drives like nothing happened until the next incident. Who will have to die before Ford finds the problem?

From a stop or at low speeds the SUV lunges forward without warning. This has happened several times over the past few months. When SUV was purchased new; the transmission failed and I was without a car for theee weeks. I have maintained the SUV and all issued recalls have been fixed. This is a major issue and anytime I take it to Ford dealership they find no issue. Let me tell you; this is an issue! my last three vehicles have been Ford and would appriciate this issue be solved

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle's throttle failed and the accelerator pedal ceased to operate. The wrench warning icon illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. Once the vehicle was restarted, the vehicle resumed normal driving. Russ milne Ford (24777 hall rd, macomb, mi 48042, 888-875-0668) was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not under warranty. The manufacturer was also notified and did not assist. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 54,000.

Driving my vehicle in traffic and it displayed a wrench symbol and start shaking lost power, had to drift to the side of the road in traffic. I had it towed to the dealer same day after 3 hours of being on side of the road they said it was the oil cap had came off, but you could not go but 20 mph. Would like to know whys hasn't anyone issued an recall on this year model. To cover the cost of this issue, could have lost my life. Please consider issuing a full recall.

I leased a 2014 Ford Edge from antelope valley Ford. After taking possession, the vehicle had turbo lag problems. I reported this to antelope valley Ford and they took the car in for repair. I was told there was no problem. The problem continues to this day. This problem occurs when vehicle is in motion.

On July 31, 2017 in my 2014 Ford Edge I slowed down to turn right into a parking space at an elementary school, and all of a sudden the car took flight over the curb and sped into the woods. Scared and shaken I was trapped in the car with trees blocking the front doors. I was able to get out of the car by climbing into the backseat where I was able to open the door. The car was not drivable and had to be towed. This acceleration is very scary and I will not feel comfortable driving this car again! what if children would have been in the way?

When driving at highway speeds (65 mph+) with cruise control enabled, if I pass an 18 wheeler, the car will suddenly jam on the brakes and decelerate from my current speed down below 55 mph. This happens in less then 3 seconds. There is no one in front of me - it is a clear straightaway. If I step on the gas the car will speed up and I'll pass the truck. At that point the cruise control will operate normally - until I pass another truck. This doesn't happen all then time. Maybe 20%. it seems to happen with tall tractor trailers more then normal trucks. Aside from the sudden stopping issue, the real problem is that cars behind me see that I am stopping for no apparent reason and if they're not paying attention they'll run right into the back of my car. This has been a day 1 problem - I bought the car new in 2014. I am adding my complaint to others who have reported this same issue. Fords response - pay $3000 to have your car fixed. This is a safety issue and there ought to be a recall to get it fixed.

I was driving my car down a side street when all of a sudden the dashboard flashed "low engine oil pressure" and I lost control of the steering, brakes, and gas. The car essentially just stalled out and just started rolling until I hit the emergency brake. I had the car towed to the dealership and after looking at it for two days they couldn't replicate the error and couldn't find anything wrong with the car. The computer registered no errors and I was told there was nothing they could do.

On 9-27-14, using adaptive cruise control on straight, 4-lane divided highway with no traffic in lane ahead or behind. Vehicle's brakes suddenly activated dropping speed from 74 to 50 mph. Taken to dealership 10-7-14 and issue could not be duplicated. Happened again on 11-11-14 with same roadway & traffic conditions, this time 55 to 50 mph drop. Taken to dealer on 11-20-14 and again no issues were detected with the vehicle. Contacted Ford customer service who said to take it back again to generate a "hot line" complaint for an engineer to look at the vehicle. Took vehicle back 12-3-14 and left it so they could drive it for a few days and try to duplicate the issue (they supplied a rental). Called after 2 days and said an engineer "happened to be there looking at another vehicle so they looked at mine". no issue found, but they did a reset of the system. The entire time they had the vehicle, it was driven a total 6 (six) miles. Also, adaptive cruise is set as a default and cannot be changed. If you turn the "adaptive" feature off, it goes back when you start the vehicle again.

On several occasions while driving and moving my foot from the gas pedal to the brake pedal, my shoe has gotten hung up on the open space by the gas pedal. There is a open gap between the side panel near the gas pedal on the right. Unlike other cars I looked at it is not one continuous piece of molding. When moving my foot from the gas pedal to the brake my shoe got caught in the open area. In 2 instances it caught and pulled off my sandal delaying my ability to get to the brake pedal. In other instances it caught my shoe and delayed my braking time.
