For the second time in less then 2 years our panoramic sunroof has cracked completely. Not just a single crack but the entire window has cracks. The first time the Ford technician said he could see where a rock or something hit the window. Well I have not taken this in yet but I'm sure it will be the same excuse. I am not sure when it cracked as we don't always have the sunroof open and don't always have the shade open either. So how and when it occurred are not clear. I know that we never heard anything that would have made us want to check to see if it was ok either. The strange thing is that the windshield had a couple of small little star shape cracks that have never gotten worse in the 4 years we have owned the car. But the sunroof seems to crack very easily.

Came out to my 2015 Ford Edge sport with the rear glass of the panoramic moonroof cracked from left to right seems. Car is parked in drive way and I have a awning so nothing fell from the sky and hit it. Also didn't see any damage or chips from a hit. Right then I remember seeing all the complaints of the of the exploding moon roofs that Ford is failing to see as a safety hazard. Reports after reports of the exact issue. After calling Ford service I was told over the phone that it's not covered. Wow, didn't even see the vehicle. This will be my last Ford I ever purchase. Nothing but issues.

The sunroof glass randomly and inexplicably cracked while the vehicle was parked in a sun-drenched parking lot. I heard a loud "crack" which resulted in a small crack that rapidly progressed into a spiderweb of cracks over the next few hours and while driving home. See attached pictures. There is no evidence of foreign object impact. My understanding from internet searches is that this is a common problem with this model vehicle/sunroof.

Was finished shopping, the car was parked ror about two hours. When I got in I noticed a small crack in the sunroof glass. I checked the outside and there was no indication of any damage from an impact. It has grown from that initial crack. Checked on line and found many of the same problems and Ford keeps saying its because of impacts. I beg to differ.

The auto dim rear view mirror stays on dim all of the time which limits the drivers visibility substantially. The lighting is never "high visibility". I am reporting this issue to you in the hopes that you will review it and possibly prevent a serious traffic incident.

Sitting in my garage, the car was running and warming up. Rear defroster was on as was heat in car. Oat was 35 deg F. rear window exploded along bottom Edge with no outside influence. Many other Edge owners have reported similar incidents of the rear window shattering on its own. Please investigate and issue a recall. Thank god it didn't happen 1000 mikes from home on a lonely interstate at night!

Vehicle is a 2015 Edge, purchased new as a leftover in Feb of 2017. Jan/Feb of 2018 with approximately 15,000 miles on the vehicle, the front panoramic sunroof glass cracked spontaneously, followed shortly after by the rear glass panel on another day. Cracks were wavy and did not appear to be caused by an impact. Ford dealer would not warranty because their "pen test" of dragging a pen along the line of the crack found a pinhead "impact" mark. Had to replace both panels thru insurance company via a specialty third party capable of replacing the urethane on the rear panel. Unknown if the vehicle was moving or stationary or when/where exactly the cracking occurred.

While driving down interstate in light rain, but trucks throwing water onto windshield, the drivers side wiper skipped and stalled. It was extremely hard to see and very dangerous. After about 5-7 seconds, it moved and wiped windshield again. This has happened at least 4 different times. Dealer has reprogrammed, but that did not fix the issue. This is a serious safety issue.

While driving down the interstate, heard a very loud "pop"; the entire rear windshield spontaneously broke. Nothing hit or fell onto my car, the back windshield literally just popped and shattered into pieces. I pulled over and got out to look at it, when I closed my door, the windshield started crumbling into the car. It look like the outer Edges of the windshield snapped or compressed first and then the center of it went. It was a very scary situation while driving; thank god my children were not in the back at the time.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. While driving 48 mph, the contact noticed that the vehicle began to vibrate and a loud thumping sound was heard within the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to the dealer (sheehy Ford Lincoln of richmond, 10601 midlothian turnpike, richmond, va 23235), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and suggested a few different options to try on the vehicle to see if any would remedy the failure. The dealer stated that none of the options were helpful in repairing the vehicle. The dealer informed the contact that they did not know how to repair the failure. The contact stated that the windsheild wipers continued to get stuck in the middle of the windshield and were stuck together. The failure mileage was 62,795.

Vehicle was stationary in the middle of an elementary school parking lot. When I got there in the morning, nothing was wrong with my back windshield. No cracks. No chips. When I walked out in the afternoon, my back windshield was cracked from top to bottom and from the left side to the right side. All along the bottom Edge of the windshield had little pieces that had already fallen out. When I shut my driver side door the pressure popped my windshield out. Then, when I shut the left back door the windshield shattered. Glass was in my trunk and on the cement. I believe this was due to faulty glass.

While driving down the interstate we hear a loud 'pop' which sounded like a balloon popping then a crackling noise. I looked back and the entire rear window on the hatch of our Edge had shattered. Luckily it stayed in tact until we returned home and when I shut a door it started to break all of the way open. We were not traveling by any other vehicle at the time this happened.

The glass panel on the panoramic sunroof cracked for no obvious reason. Selling dealer was contacted. The service manager looked at the glass and stated that "it was caused by impact call your insurance company". there was no impact. It seems the glass panel is under a pressure/stress load. The glass just cracked.

My rear windshield shattered for no reason. I was pulling out of a parking spot and heard a loud pop. Nothing had hit my car, no one was around, nothing fell from the sky or off of a building. My rear windshield basically just exploded and cracked from one side to the other, across the bottom and then buckled and cracked up the center. Shards of glass were falling into the car and also pouring out the bottom of the window. Glass has now fallen into the rear gate.
