PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN APRIL OF 2016 WITHIN A MONTH OR TWO THE BRAKES WERE CRAZY TOUCHY WHEN IT WAS RAINING OR WHEN THERE WAS A LOT OF HUMIDITY IN THE AIR. PROBLEM WAS VERY RANDOM SEEMS LIKE IT WOULDN'T DO IT THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU'D LIGHTLY APPLY THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN FOR A TURN OR AT AN INTERSECTION AND FOUND YOURSELF KISSING THE WINDSHIELD. COMPLAINED TO DEALERSHIP FOR 40K MILES. 4 MECHANICS DROVE IT AND ASKED ME WHAT THE F WAS WRONG WITH MY BRAKES AND TOLD ME TO TAKE IT IN. FINALLY 3 YEARS LATER I PITCHED A FIT IN THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER HELPED ME. THEY REPLACED THE BOOSTER, BILLED MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH WAS WRONG, BUT THE PROBLEM IS FIXED AND I APPRECIATE NORMAL WORKING BRAKES.

When you put on the brakes in damp weather, it nearly puts you through the windshield. The new pads and turned rotors helped some, but didn't alleviate the problem entirely. Love this car except for this and the wheelwell problem with the dirt etc.

An annoying issue where, at low speed (about 50% of the time) gently applying the brakes will actually lock-up the brakes. Even more of an issue when it’s icy out, going down a steep hill. I found a TSB (NHTSA ID #10081005) and took it to Ford for repair. Apparently, the fix is replacing a brake booster. Hearing this and knowing it’s a safety issue I assumed it would be covered (or a recall), but it’s not. The cost to repair is $860.00 Canadian?
