My 2015 Ford Edge, with 95,000 miles, has a 2.0L EcoBoost engine that requires a new engine (Engine Long Block Kit) due to a coolant intrusion into the cylinder. Diagnostic trouble codes include PO302, PO217, and P0316 are consistent with TSB 19-2346 (See pic attached). There are also other Diagnostic trouble codes which include PO219, PO6E9, and P1026 (See pic attached) The service station that serviced my vehicle said this was the 4th Ford Edge they have seen this week with the same issue and Ford has recalled some of these vehicles but not my VIN#.

My 2015 Ford Engine recently had engine failure. Came out of the blue. Had just undergone recall at ford dealership in Norwood, MA weeks before failure. Had just received inspection sticker weeks before failure. No warning lights came on. Suddenly started having white gray smoke coming from exhaust. Car not running properly. Smell from engine. Spoke with mechanic who said to have it towed not to drive it. Diagnosed with engine failure. Has approximately 103,000 miles on it. One owner. Routine maintenance. No issues with the car. Just noticed there is a recall in 2021-2022 ford edges with 2.7 choose engine. Sounds like my car. I have read and heard from several mechanics that this is a known problem with the Edge in particular. Would be interested in some feedback. This is a devastating expense and if this is a common theme I think Ford should be held responsible. I would appreciate a response. Thank you.

The 2015 Ford Edge and similar models are notorious for flex plate cracking, which Is an absolute hazard to anyone driving it. These things can crack or shatter spontaneously, causing the engine to stop running, even mid-drive. This issue is known, yet the NHTSA hasnt deemed this as a true recall, so Ford isnt covering replacement of this part. PLEASE reconsider recalling this part!

coolant intrusion in cylinders on the engine 2.7 ecoboost Ford made a bad engineering decision on the headers and block to allow coolant to flow through the gaskets to get to the other side of the cylinder. Now with a vehicle only 98K miles I'm expected to pay more than the car is worth to get it fixed or be out of a vehicle or find a scrape yard or someone to buy it off of me just to save some money. I can't trust any American auto makers with my money going forward. Auto shop Notes - The vehicle has the history code of P0316- misfire detected in the first 1,000 revolutions and P0304- Cylinder four misfire detected. The active counters was checked and it is steady on four but the other cylinders will drop random. The vehicle will smoke coolant out of the tailpipe also. This all indicates the failure of the head and/or head gasket and possible the block. This engine is known for head and block issues. It is advised to replace the engine only, repairs is not recommended do to the severe condition on the engine and the known concerns.

March 2022. 110,000 miles repair of flex plate, paid $5500 then was a recall in October 2022. However the dealer, heritage Ford in modesto California, replaced the eco boost 2.0 engine block with a known defective block. Previous tsb's 19-2208, 19-2346 in regards to coolant intrusion. Dealer failed to install corrected or updated block. Moreover, it's well known that the eco boost 2.0 engine block was defective due to poor design. Ford has declined to honor this mistake, case [xxx].over 3 plus years Ford has known that his 2.0 eco boost engine block is defective and only issues tsb's. this should be. A recall due to possible engine failure upon driving which could cause an accident or fire. Thank you information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2 fly wheels have been changed with ford parts within the last 2.5 years. There is a leak coming from the lower part of the engine through the weep hole. Rear main seal was changed and now it leaks more. We cannot locate source of leak. Crank shaft "walk" is suspected. We are in the process or ordering a brand new engine to replace the existing one that has 157K miles on it.

My car only has 73,367 miles on it and was experiencing a misfire on #4 cylinder. My Ford dealer ran a test on it and said coolant from the 2.0 EcoBoost is leaking into the cylinder and it will burn up the engine which could lock up on me while driving. This is a known defect, but Ford has not done a recall on it. My dealer told me they have heard Ford Co helping some people with the replacement cost, so why won't they help everyone? It is ridiculous to have to get a whole new engine (which is what our dealer is suggesting) when my car has such low mileage. Is there anyone I could reach out to for help getting this defect recalled and fixed? Fortunately, I found about this danger before I drove it too long and the engine froze up on my while driving. We are senior citizens on a low fixed income and cannot afford a new car. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Traveling 80mph on turnpike and lost all ability to propel vehicle forward due to broken flex plate. Car just stopped driving and steering became an issue as I coasted to the shoulder in the middle of no where miles and miles from a place of business. No warning. The only sign was a loud rattle from the bell housing. Broken flex plate happened 3 times this year 2023. First repair $2400 by AAA mechanic shop, second time (4 months later) covered by parts warranty, 3rd time (2 months later) and Ford wants $4500 and no reimbursement for the first repair.

I recently learned that there is a coolant leak in my engine in cylinder 2 which has now blown a gasket and causing the engine to fail. I was told the entire engine needs to be replaced. After doing research i learned ford release a service bulletin to address this issue but they do not accept liability for this defect. A quick google search will show many many ford customers are affected by this issue and ford needs to address the concerns and issue a recall and offer to replace the engine.
