Loud noise coming from the engine flex plate which I’m seeing is a common problem with the ford edges 2015-18 which ford should be responsible for repairing this problem since they recommend changing so many parts how about they pay for the mistakes they made when making this vehicle.

Took the car to the Dealer where it was purchased at 8 am on Monday. They said did I make an appointment? I said no. They said you need to make an appointment to see what's wrong with the vehicle. I would have to pay $115 for the diagnosis that would be applied to the repair if they do it. The guy said that the check would take ABOUT 1 TO 2 HOURS. I ask him to call me when they find out what was wrong. I bring it back Tuesday at 10 AM and wait for a call.

I called at 2PM and got voice mail. I call back at 3:30 and get put on hold then it hangs up. I call again and it goes to voice mail. I call again and finally get the guy. I go down there at 4:15 and talk to the guy he says he is not going to charge the $115 because of the time. I live @ 40 miles from this place. He says that the noise is in the engine and that his engine guy is off this week and that he will have to have him look at it next week and that he will call me. Since the factory warrantee just expired, I got Car Shield insurance and brought the car to a local repair shop who checked it out right away and found it was coming from the flex plate and he would get the Car Shield people to find out what they will do to cover it and he will do the repair next week. He said it was not a cheap repair.

This sounds like something that Ford should be responsible for, since they did all the maintenance on the vehicle at the dealership and there is not a high mileage on the car and has not been driven hard or involved in any accidents.

The engine was making knocking noise with less than 3000 miles on the car. It has been with Ford dealership to repair for over 2 weeks. They can not get one part ("turbo"), though they have remaining parts to replace the whole engine. They have given me a rental car for the last week; but they can't get the part from Ford.
