Car lost power on 2 lanes of traffic. Was able to very slowly get off road. Called Ford 800 road service was told this happens to Ford Edges, don 't drive the car it will happen again. The 800 Ford road service man feels Ford should recall the Edges and fix this problem. Car was towed to Flood Ford Dealers it took 5 days before they looked . at problem. They could fine nothing wrong with the car. The car computer did not register what happened when the car lost power and the power train fault light and air bag light came on. They could not say that it would not happen again. They feel that the parts of the car that did not register what happen are still working even though they did not work I when I lost power. The Ford Representive at Ford MI. Told me Ford does not guarantee the work that was done looking at the car or can not guarantee it will not happen again. They just told me pick up the car nobody is going to do any thing for me. I am a 74 yr old women with a 78 year old husband w in Newport RI babysitting my granddaughter, When I asked the Ford Rep.. What do I do if this happens on busy Rt 95 when I go back to New Jersey he said he only answers factual questions. Yet he can not answer why this happened and what to do it it happens again. This is a brand me car only has 6,500 miles on it. When I picked up the Edge I did not have to sign for it , Did not get a copy of the 3 pages paper work; asked for copies and was told they would have to mail them to me. It was closing time so the next day L
I calledl to have the copies mail to my daughter in Newport. I feel so over whelmed by this and do not want to drive the car. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them.

When I TRY to accelerate (ie, onto highway from exit lane), there is hardly any power. Seems odd for a 3.5L V6 engine??

I was driving my normal commute, when the "check engine" light came on. I noticed that the engine was slow to accelerate and the turbos wouldn't engage. I went right to the dealer and explained the issue. The problem landed up being coolant getting into some of the cylinders, which required a teardown and rebuild of the top part of the motor. This took the dealership's service center over 2 months to complete! Having all the approvals going through corporate is very painful and only added to the frustration of the situation. Thankfully, the dealership didn't make pay anything out of pocket for the rental, but having the car be out of service for over 2 months was a pain in the butt!
