This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
Bought the car used and noticed a slight stain on both sides of the interior roof after getting it home. I was hoping that whatever caused them had been fixed but a tropical storm came by and water started leaking out of the center lighting console near the rear view mirror. I'm assuming this is related to the 2015 problems which obviously still exist in the 2016. Going to call the dealer to see if they will do something about it.

After a significant rain (the day after purchasing the Edge, I noticed the passenger floor was very wet. Both the floor mat and carpet underneath the mat was very wet.
After doing some research, I see where the 2015 Edge had this very issue. In fact, there was a Stop-Sale due to water leaks.
I was told it was taken to a body shop and "repaired". I have no idea what was done, as it is still at the dealership's service department for replacement of a transfer case full of metal shavings.

Bought a brand new 2016 edge in January 2017 . We have owned the car 3 weeks. It rained out one night and now the drivers side and passenger side floor is soaked. Car is in now for repairs, so who knows how long it will take to get new carpet replaced along with windsheild and whst ever needs to be fixed. So how long has this car been sitting on the lot leaking, causing rust and who knows if water has got on any electronics. Ford Canada will not let me return the car but I will not let up until I receive an extended warranty on electronic components where the water leaked, I shouldn't be held responsible for future electric problems that may occur from sloppy manufacturing. FORD is to busy jamming there vehicles with all this technology, that they have let here reliability and quality slip big time.

Second complaint report, and the second incident of mold on my back seat...
We bought our 2016 Ford Edge used in October 2020. Four to six weeks after the first discovery of mold all over the back seat, damp back seat and wet rear floorboard, it happened again. The first incident was in July of 2022. This second incident occurred September 2022. As in the case of the first incident, I heard "sloshing" somewhere in the car while turning corners, and sure enough, my back seat and seatbelts were once again covered in mold. The carpet under the rubber mat in the back seating area is also wet and moldy.
This time I also found mold on the carpet in the rear cargo area, only appearing there where my daughter's dog's feet were. (The dog was never in the car before this incident.)
The seat feels damp to the touch. The front seating area doesn't appear to be affected - yet. The headliner is not wet, nor does it feel damp to the touch. It only seems to affect the rear seat and floorboard and this time, as stated, the carpet in the rear cargo area.
My son came to help me take groceries out of the cargo area, and when we lifted the hatch, water dribbled from the back latch and left & right ends of the hatch door onto us. My son removed the rubber stopper/damper from the bottom left side of the hatch door which is where some of the water dripped from, and a substantial stream of water flooded out of it. He did the same on the right side and more water streamed out from that side.
We don't quite know how the water is getting in there to be trapped (surely rain water), but somehow this must be a major contributing factor to the mold that keeps appearing in the back seat of the car.
I plan to stop by my dealership and see if I can get an appointment for them to investigate and hopefully solve the problem. I have my doubts. I am leaving it "as is" so they can see it, and after just one day of sitting "as is" the mold is spreading to the backs of the front seats. This is disgusting and unhealthy.
I will scrub it with the Norwex microfiber cloth which contains a microsilver antibacterial agent to inhibit the growth of the bacteria, mold, and mildew. It's also time to get another container of Damp Rid to leave in the car.
