The panoramic roof has a stress crack. We went on vacation in our other vehicle. The Ford Edge was in my garage that June when we went. We came home, I washed the Ford Edge two days later and noticed the stress crack in the panoramic roof.

Car's brakes went to floor when engaged. Driver pumped them several times to slow car. Engine light came on; took car to mechanic and brake repair was made, but engine light kept appearing. Then the car would not crank and was towed to the mechanic and the battery was replaced. Finally, the car's body/wheels appeared to be shaking when driving and the engine light appeared again. Car was taken to a Ford repair center where service department informed us that the engine needed to be replaced due to coolant leak. The car is driveable but unsafe and requires expensive engine replacement. After doing research, this appears to be a well known problem with the Ford Edge and consumers aren't receiving adequate information about the extent of the problem or safety concerns. A recall needs to be issued for this defect and Ford needs to take responsibility to fix the problem.

While driving on August 8, 2021, I heard a pop on my 2071 Ford Edge panoramic tempered glass roof. I subsequently found a crack/break when I was cleaning the glass roof. I notified the Ford Dealership (FD) (Lithia Ford of Fresno California) on my next oil change on December 15, 2021. Based on my ocular inspection the crack/break appears to emanate from a bubble in the tempered glass roof as opposed to FD-€™s opinion that object impact caused the cracking. In my online research, cracking, popping and even exploding without impact have happened to tempered automotive glasses have occurred across different vehicle models across different vehicle manufacturers. The presence of bubbles in the manufacturing process have caused weak points across the surfaces of many tempered automotive glass resulting in cracking, breaking, popping and exploding. When this occurs, vehicle occupants as well as other moving motorists could be injured. The tempered automotive glass that exhibit bubbles should not be installed by vehicle manufacturers like Ford. Intensified quality control of tempered automotive glass should be done by vehicle manufacturers before these are installed. Tempered panoramic glass roofing ( sunroof & moonroof) found with bubbles that are installed in all vehicles should be inspected and replaced if necessary to prevent injury to vehicle occupants and moving motorists.

2017 ford Edge Rear panoramic glass randomly cracked while parked. Took to dealer they said it was stress cracks that it would cost approximately $1800 to replace. Car has 37,000 miles and is out of warranty. Poor quality and craftsmanship should not be on the consumer's nor should car insurance have to pay for these repairs.

We are having an ongoing issue with the tailgate malfunctioning of our 2017 Ford Edge Titanium. The tailgate will suddenly will not open for no reason after pushing the remote as well as the button on the hatch. We have tried resetting it on the menu and it will work for a while and then won-€™t open again. I have read that other owners have reported that it closes on their heads while putting stuff in the back. This is a safety issue because we can-€™t get to the spare tire if need be because of a design flaw that allows no manual operation of this tailgate!! I can-€™t believe this issue has not been addressed by Ford or the NTSB. Very frustrated.

Spontaneous cracks appeared in the movable and fixed panes of glass in the panorama sunroof. No rock or gravel impact. There are numerous examples of this issue documented in photos on the internet. The cracks I have observed look identical to those posted by other Ford Edge owners.

My vehicle was parked. I used the auto start. Let it run for 2 minutes or so. I went to the vehicle, put my personal property in the front seat. Closed the door. Went to the backseat to grab an ice scraper, to clean off the car. Closed the door, and the back window caved in. I am now afraid to drive my vehicle. I could have had my dogs in the back of the car. What happens if the full piece of glass that is my roof caves in" my child has now asked if the windshield could cave in"

The stationary sunroof panel cracked but there is no impact damage. Appears just to have cracked. Because there was no impact, I'm unsure of specifically when this happened, just noticed it when I opened I opened the sunroof last time.

The tail light reflector has major condensation problems. This problem is causing water to sit and over time algae has formed. This appears to be a common problem among 2015-2018 Ford Edge models. This can be a safety issue once algae has formed due to the lack of visibility of reverse tail lights being seen.

This vehicle was involved in an accident when another vehicle crossed its path going the wrong way on a one way street. This Ford Edge struck the Ford F150 broadside at approximately 30+ mph at about a 20 degree angle drivers side hood and fender and windshield broken. The steering wheel air bag did not deploy, and the knee bolster did not deploy fully. This caused serious injuries to the driver.

Living in Colorado it get very cold at times. A gap at the front Edge of the rear wheel well opening allows melted snow or ice to get into the area and under the rear doors. The liquid re-freezes and seals the door shut. It can not be opened. Putting heat lamps near the two areas (both sides) took over an hour to thaw the ice and allow the door(s) to open. #2 brakes squeak when backing up - reported to dealer several time and brakes were checked - worst again in cool weather. I may not seem like a big deal to have the rear doors freeze shut but it is potentially very serious if the vehicle had to be exited in a hurry in an emergency.

The rear lift gate latch on our vehicle is unsafe. There is no method of unlocking / unlatching the lift gate if the driver is inside the vehicle. Our owner's manual chapter on manually operated lift gate operation, page 68, states that the vehicle should be equipped with two methods of unlatching. The first, a button 'located in the top of the lift gate pull cup handle ' and the second a button on the remote control key fob that will unlatch the gate by 'pressing the (2X) button twice within three seconds '. our vehicle was delivered new with a key fob that does not have the 2X button. The result is that the lift gate can only be unlatched from outside the vehicle. In an emergency or if someone were trapped in the vehicle, there is no lift gate release button inside the car or on the remote as stated in the manual.

I opened the electric liftgate and was in the process of placing a wheelchair into the back compartment when the hatch decided to close automatically. The liftgate struck me on the head and continued to push me down. I had to push on the liftgate as hard as I could to get it to reverse. If a young child had been hit it would have caused serious injuries. We called 2 Ford dealers who offered to give us an appointment for service with a 2 week wait. (boy, do they care). I ended up with a mild concussion......nausea and mild lightheadedness. Something should be done to stop this liftgate from hurting people....
