Edge V6

  • 30,000 miles

Car was sluggish starting in January. Right before 30k miles. Stopped at autozone at night for a check. They told me the battery was dead. They checked alternator etc. replaced battery. 3-4 weeks later - car dead. Returned to auto zone. I’m told, whoops, a dud battery!? Replaced battery.

In March, Covid just started - and the car was dead again. Roadside came. Went directly to dealer. They had my vehicle almost two weeks. Charged me to check alternator and electrical.

“Autozone sold you the wrong type of battery. Your car has automatic shut off when idling and requires a special battery.”🤷🏽‍♀️ Close to $380 total. Replaced battery. Return other battery to Autozone. May 15, after 4 days in driveway, then dead again.

Dealer has my vehicle. This sucks. Lemon.

Car has had four batteries replaced - electrical draw - they 'cannot recreate problem'. Then check engine light comes on - after a "pressure test" I was told my engine was leaking coolant around head and engine needed to be replaced! This was covered under 60,000 mile powertrain. When they installed engine - battery was again dead. So 5th battery was installed and car was checked for electrical "issues" and they cannot find out what issue is.

I was also told the warranty on the "new" engine is good only up to 60000 miles of original mileage. Because I did not PAY for engine.

I have complained directly to Ford Motors for relief and requested a buy back. I was denied - told that it did not meet criteria for Lemon Law and they would not buy back on Good Faith. Even though these issues are on the technical safety bulletin! Car is a piece of crap - NEVER buy FORD.
