Bought my (used)2019 Ford Edge 2 years ago(June) from a dealership. Everything seemed to be great until it wasn't. A few days prior to the engine taking a dump I noticed a very slight lag during acceleration(hardly noticeable). No warning lights came on so I didn't think anything of it. I was leaving my job and my car wouldn't start. After a few attempts it finally turned over and I headed down the road. I began noticing a terrible odor filling the cabin and the car started sputtering. I stopped right there on the road and turned on my hazards. Had to turn the vehicle off due to the smoke and strong/terrible smell.
A tow was called and my edge was taken to my mechanic where I learned that coolant had entered the engine. I did a google search and it appears this is a well known issue to the 2019 Ford Edge 2.0 eco. I had said vehicle in for an oil change 2 months prior and my mechanic said everything checked out. I called Ford to report this issue and they were no help whatsoever. Now I'm left trying to figure out what I'm going to do with a vehicle that needs a new engine. I don't understand how they can get away with this. This was my first time buying a Ford and I can assure that it will be my LAST.

This car engine has a warranty up to 60k miles but a known TSB of 2019 eco boost engines allowed coolant into the engine causing it to die at 45,101 miles and we are over the year warranty as the car was a well taken care of low mileage car. Ford is offering nothing to help with expenses. Basically Ford is confirming Ford cars are good only up to 45k miles. We have not yet decided what to do? Open to all suggestions. Thank you
