I couldn't have described it any better. A SERIOUS PAIN IN THE ASS!!!!!!!!!!! Literally !!!!!!! I absolutely love everything else about this car. Oh, maybe I would change the color, but that doesn't hurt anything other than my sensibilities. Like the other complaints on here, I didn't find out about the horrible pain that would come to me from the poorly designed seats until I had ridden a few more miles than you take when trying out a car. As I say, in every other respect, I love this car. Too bad I can't ride in it, or drive it. It sure would save us on gas mileage over our big truck! So here it sits, looking pretty, but not being driven. Anybody up for a 2002 Ford Escape with 20,000 miles in great shape, except for the crappy seats? I swear that if there is any justice in the world, the engineer who designed these seats will spend eternity sitting in them. Ford should either come up with replacement seats that the average size person, me, can sit in (because unless you are Nicole Richie, you can't possible be comfortable in a seat that squishes your chubby cheeks together causing severe pain) OR ------ Ford should pay for weekly chiropractic visits for those of us who are suffering from pain that was not existing before our purchase of this car.

I had this car for a two weeks when I started to notice the back pain. I would drive 15 miles to work and have to take major pain killers for the pain in my lower back. The pain would only start after sitting in the car. At one point, having driven some distance, I returned home, put heat on my back, yet could NOT sleep that night because of the discomfort. I called my dealership and, of course, I am stuck with this piece of crap for the next 3 years!! They offered to possibly stuff foam in the seat, but haven't really committed. It has become so bad that I do not want to drive the car AT ALL and would take a junker instead of driving this car. It's not like there is a little flaw in the car that makes it a bit noisy, or that the stereo system sucks (which it actually does) but I go through such extreme pain when I drive it, that I do not want it anymore! DO NOT BUY THIS CAR. Unless you have totally perfect posture or you don't mind pain, this car is hell.
