2002 Ford Escape exciter ring cracked making a loud noise. ** answer required*** there was a slight metallic sound coming from the left front tire. The complete front axle shaft assembly would have to be ordered and installed. The dealer also recommended that the front brake pads and rotors be replaced.

While driving brakes and steering locked up and engine shut off without any warning.driver lost control of vehicle, resulting in an accident. The consumer stated that the manufacturer had issued two technical service bulletins on defects of the vehicle, and the problems occuring were the result of one of those defects.
