Car losses power when climbing and can not make top speed on highway - 40 MPH tops. A hissing sound can be heard when pressing the gas. Mechanic identifies leak between front manifold and exhaust. Explains that loss of pressure can fool the computer. $400 ( and sells me 4 new tired that were needed.) Go for a check ride and the problem is still there. Heading back to the shop and I hear a small boom, pop or bang and now see some smoke. Limp into the shop and discover a dime sized hole has been blown in the metal housing of the EGR valve. Google tells me that the coil cap design is defective causing misfires in bad weather (check- this has happened), which leads to raw fuel being dumped into the catalytic converter or catalytic converters it turns out there are 3 of them on this car). this causes the catalyltic converter(s) to clog, and pressure builds up in the EGR valve. This and maybe some of the fuel gets in there to so when it gets hot....BOOM!
So I checked the box for no clue as to how much this will cost. Does anyone know a good class action lawyer?

NOT REALLY A LOT OF RANTING. BUT IF THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR OTHERS WHY HAVEN'T I SEEN A RECALL FOR THIS. WHEN I GET ANY NOTICE OF A RECALL I TAKE IT IN TO STOP PROBLEM BEFORE IT STARTS. IT REALLY SUCKS WHEN YOU ONLY HAVE ONE CAR AND IT HAS TO BE PUT IN SHOP. I REALLY HATE ASKING PEOPLE FOR A RIDE.
