The contact owns a 2004 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the catalytic converter failed and was replaced by his personal mechanic. One year later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle was not under recall and provided no further assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 156,000 and the current mileage was 177,000.
