I also was having a sticking gas pedal. when it got to the point in the morning where I had to practically jump on it to go I took it to a private garage. They found the casing under the gas pedal was made of plastic and had all kinds of grunge and dirt in there. they cleaned it and I've not had another problem for over a year now. Newest complaint on this 2005 Ford Escape is the back window exploding!

I bought my Escape in 2005. I have a major problem with the gas pedal sticking. The car suddenly decelerates and the gas pedal feels like there's something trapped underneath. It happens irregularly, but often in cold/hot weather.
