The power steering hose on a 2005 Escape is a one time use part. Ford's supplier went out of business. For one time use parts, Ford should have backup suppliers qualified and available. This vehicle is less that 8 years old and will sit in a parking lot at a dealer until September at the earliest before it will be back on the road. Since it is more than 6 years old and has more than 100,000 miles, the Ford customer service people can offer no help or relief. Beware buying Ford products unless you plan to turn them over inside of 6 years.

Power Steering line coupling that joins the pump failed and there are NO parts OEM or aftermarket in the USA. Could not even find one in a junk yard. Car is not fixable - my mechanic, a dealer and myself invested countless hours looking online, calling, etc. The car is done until a line can be found. I still cannot believe that Ford is not supporting such a "young" vehicle. We had planned on keeping this car another 5 years. So is this what it has come to? Automakers no longer supporting their vehicles like Apple no longer supports older iPhones and Microsoft no longer supports older versions of their operating systems? This is a freaking CAR! A very large ticket item! Disappointment is not a large enough word to express our feelings.
