Escape 6 cyl

  • Automatic transmission

This vehicle was very very new....very low miles, No stone, no chips, no nothing...

one morning I noticed a crack coming up from the MIDDLE of the windshild at the very bottom, it was about 4" high....over the next week, the crack took a left hand turn.....and cracked all the way across the driver's side of the windshield....

took it to the Ford dealership...this lying SOB told me that it had a very small chip: "the size of the tip of a ball point pen" at the very very bottom of the windshield. he also told me it wasn't covered under any warranty, he also gave me a price of about $400 to replace it.

Then.....I took the vehicle around the corner to the local windshield place....had them look at it...unbelievably...THIS guy said: "it has a very small chip, the size of the tip of a ball point pen, at the very very bottom of the windshield....

What are the chances that two people would use the EXACT language to describe this very very small chip? Obviously, the Ford dealership had already taken the vehicle to this guy....and were NOT planning on using a Ford windshield to replace this thing....

I actually BELIEVED that there was a very very small chip at the bottom that caused this crack all the way across my windshield, and paid a different glass company to replace this. Then one day...I was driving down the road...and there was another 2005 Ford Escape, Black, JUST LIKE MINE>....and that vehicle had the EXACT SAME crack, coming up from the bottom, in the middle, and then turning left...and cracking all the way across the drivers side.....

NOW THIS IS SIMPLY NOT POSSIBLE that this lady also had a very very small chip at the very very bottom, (the size of the tip of a ball point pen). I went on line and typed in Ford Escape Windshield Crack and found out that lots of people have reported this.

I have had other very strange problems with this vehicle, such as bad shock absorbers that ruined my tires. It is currently sitting in the shop, it needs a new differential....$1600
