The contact owns a 2006 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed but was firm. The service brake system warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to ron dupratt Ford located at 1320 North first St, dixon, ca 95620, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the brake hydraulic control unit was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000.
