Drove to church without any problem. A family member drove home for the afternoon till the Christmas program in the evening. They told me that the brakes went straight to the floor and they almost hit a herd of deer. This is unacceptable. No noises of any kind, nothing.... just all of a sudden loss of brakes. No fluid seen where the car was parked at the church or at home. I drove home about 35 miles an hour and the brakes went straight to the floor. The brake light is also on in the right upper hand corner of the dashboard.

We are going to have an estimate to see what they tell us. It is impossible to get an appointment with any dealer in a 50 mile radius. I tried last week Monday, due to another issue.

If there was any warning, I could understand. But just loose your brakes without any kind of warning....FORD needs to step up, but I called last week their complaint line.... you might as well give up. They don't tell you they are hanging up and take you to a survey. VERY POOR customer service in my opinion.

I had just picked my daughter up from work and was headed back to 1-696 west in Michigan. When exiting the hospital (where she works) boulevard, I tried to brake and the pedal went to the floor. I looked at her in shock, tried again, and no brakes. I then lifted the emergency brake up and glided to a rolling stop. All I could think about was "That it wasn't our day to die, thank God!" Called AAA (thank you AAA for getting to us in a half an hour, and the service was great) and the Ford Escape was towed across town and dropped at a dealership closer to our home. Since it was Saturday, Jan 24, the dealership was not open again until Monday.

The service department gave us a diagnosis on Tuesday, Jan. 27 which was that the brake lines and cylinders have to be replaced for $900. Plus, a rental car for $35 a day on top of that. The service department said they usually never get an Escape in where all the lines are broken. Some have come in with one side or the other broken, but not all.

I am very unhappy having to experience this "life-threatening" situation, with my daughter in the car as well, then paying what will end up being over $1000.00 to get this fixed. The worst of all is that I am reading other complaints that this has happened 2 and 3 times to the same vehicle, after getting it fixed.

I have been a for buyer for many years now, and was looking at new Escapes, but now I just can't do it.

Safety is #1, and if your buyers aren't safe, then that's the end of it. I would really like no one else to have to go through this. It is horrifying!
