Escape XLT 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,320 miles

I had a 2007 Ford Escape XLT 3.0L V6. At 70,000 miles it had a loud ticking noise at a cold start up & would go away once it was warmed up. I took it to the dealer & they found that the catalytic converter was bad but its made into the exhaust manifold as 1 unit so i had to have a whole NEW exhaust manifold in order to get the catalytic converter. Luckily Ford had a 80,000 mile emissions warranty that covered the problem, but the cost was just shy of $2000. Stay away from these vehicles!
