The theft system randomly sounds off for no reason. The theft light keeps blinking as the key is placed in the run position. The vehicle is having issues starting and there's no sound at all when turning the key. When the vehicle does start it stalls, so the gas pedal must be pushed almost to the floor. I must apply strong pressure to the breaks, so that I can stop and not crash. The problem is not changing and other ownsers are having these same issue with this truck. I've already had the battery checked, starter replaced, purchased a new key, and fob.

Vehicle lost power unexpectedly in traffic several times. Once stopped it started after a pause and ran fine for a considerable time until if failed again. When researching online noticed that this year and model had a recall but that is not reflected when I ran the VIN of my 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid. My concern is the diagnosis at the dealer will not detect this and could result in needless expense which I am not prepared for. The NHTSA has this issue documented and I feel should qualify me to have the coolant pump replaced on a recall before a serious accident.

The alarm goes off at all hours every day for no apparent reason while locked & parked. The dealership had no way to fix it unless the horn was disarmed. I feel that is unsafe to have no horn.

For years my alarm goes off randomly, during the day to all hours of the night. When I'm driving the car the light inside will go on and off and on dashboard will say door ajar. I've called Ford, I've asked the dealer and I've asked mechanics not with Ford. Since the alarm is built into engine it can not be disabled. Only option is to pull horn wire so my neighbors will not be annoyed by my horn and alarm soundings at all hours. I've researched for years how to try to fix this issue, I've changed my car battery, I've changed battery in remote...nothing is working. Now the dealer is telling me there's a problem with the latch. Had my car in there many times for different things, but I refuse to pay 800. Per latch in the vehicle, since they're not even really sure it's a latch or which latch would be the problem. I'm very leary about disconnecting my horn for safety issues, but I'm let with no other choice. From what I understand this has been an ongoing issue with the Ford Escape for years and years. Now it's a safety issue not just annoying to my family and the neighbors.

I purchased this car from a 2nd hand dealer and after 2 months I noticed a strange noise from the rear right side. Come to find out, the rust on the under pending of this car was hazardous. The whole body underneath was corroded. One of the shocks was barely holding on. If it has completely snapped, it could have cause a sever accident to me and my 2 year great niece, and injured someone else. First notice of this, I took to the dealer. They took pictures and was going to find a welder. A week later is when the part came loose more and the welder said it was unsafe and beyond patching up. A call was made to the dealer to inform them that the car was unsafe and not only because of the shock but the under pending was rusted out. Another mechanic prior noticed the parking brake had rusted out and crumbled along with the brake dust plate. It crumbled and some of the pieces along with screws were caught in the brake drums behind roter. I complained to dealer and they gave me another vehicle to trade, one I really didn't want. They gave me no choice. This vehicle had no air, the windows do not roll down, and the wheel bearing was bad. I didn't want to be without a car due to multiple upcoming doctor appointments. They were aware of a rare condition I have that prevents me from being in the heat but they could not offer me anything else. If so I would have to make payments. The Ford Escape was paid in cash all up front. I feel cheated and had their been an accident I am sure more money would have been collected from this dealer for the suffering of my family had it been fatal. Vehicle was in motion. Also after contacting the dealer to inform them of the shock about to fall off, they wanted me to drive it to the welder. After the welder told them how unsafe it was, instead of them having it towed, they had me drive it and hour and a half to them. I was scared.

The gas pedal sticks often, and feels as if something is under the pedal, stopping it from being depressed. This causes sudden reduction of speed and then sudden acceleration when pressing hard to get the pedal to go down. Ford previously recalled throttle body's in Escapes from 2009-2012. I believe the 2007 Ford Escape model should be added to that recall! this is a true safety problem! mine has being doing this for about a month and has gotten way worse so it will need to be fixed.

Bad rear door switch. I bought my SUV used on July 14, 2014. The dome light kept going off or staying on. The doors would or wouldn't lock. The horn would go off randomly. This is all within the first three or four days of my owning it. I took it to the dealer and it took them a while but they finally realized it was a bad rear door switch. The dealer fixed it at no cost to me, but I saw the bill was about $600. Shortly after that the horn started going off again. My friend has a 2006 Ford Escape. She has been having similar issues. She said the horn was the weather induced. I have noticed that when the seasons change that my horn goes off more often. One day I was visiting her, and my horn went offf, so I used my key fob to turn it off, but nothing happened. That's when we realized it was her car going off. Barely a couple minutes later, her horn went off again. She went to turn it off and it wouldn't work, because this time it was my car. This year has been the most obnoxious yet. My dome light, keeps going off and on whenever it feels like it. The horn goes off all the time. 5 am, 2pm, 9 am, so far it has always been parked. And the light on my dash, keeps telling me that my door is ajar. It has been doing that almost nonstop for a couple weeks now. I don't even check the doors anymore. A couple days ago I had a friend in my car, the car beeped and the door ajar light came on. I assured her that the car was confused. Then while driving 70mph down the highway I noticed road sounded extra noisy, as if I had a window open. Then I realized her door was open, so she quickly opened and reshut it while I was driving. I've looked at this problem on the internet. A lot of people with I believe 05's-08's are having similar issues. They usually just override the wiring in the rear door switch. I don't want to get it fixed with a brand-new defective rear door switch.

Upon reversing from a parked position and then slowly moving forward there is a loud rattling sound, my daughter who has the same vehicle purchased one month prior to mine had the same problem and was required to have the motor mounts replaced. I am sure that if two of us had the same problem so must other Escape owners. It cost my daughter $1000 to have hers replaced, unfortunately I am unable to afford that so my vehicle sits idle. As far as I am concerned this is an extremely important safety issue for which I believe should have been recalled.

Original owner stated that after she had had the car about 18 months it had just stopped on her several times when she was on the highway with and without the warning light coming on first. The vehicle was checked out by a Ford Agency in Virginia and they could not find a problem. Apparently, it had happened several times again between 2010 and 2013, it was checked out by a Pennsylvania Ford dealership and again, they found nothing wrong. She stopped driving in 2013 the car was sold to a friend when it had about 127,000 miles on it. After using it for about 3000 miles and several months while on a highway going about 60mph the warning light to pull over at once came on. He did, turned the engine off, waited 10 minutes and started it up again. He then proceeded another 20 miles or so and the same thing happened. The local Ford dealership then said that the "motor electronics cooling pump" was defective and needed to be replaced. Apparently, it is a common problem. My question is that if it is such a common problem, "why hasn't there been a recall"" this is potentially extremely dangerous! why should the customer have to pay over $800 to have a known defective part replaced" I feel that Ford has been grossly negligent in not acting on this.

We purchased a 2007 Ford Escape in Feb. Within a few days we noticed a strange noise when accelerating. We brought it back to the dealer & the manager agreed that there was indeed a noise. We brought it in for service & upon picking it up the next day, were told that there was nothing wrong. The manager insisted that they investigate further, so it was kept another day. Still, no idea what the noise was. We have driven in other '07 Escapes that do not they this noise. Now it's 6 weeks later, we have 600 miles on a car with a strange noise & Ford may finally be sending a trouble shooter to investigate the situation. Since no one knows what is causing the noise, we have some concerns as to the trucks safety. We have been told that problem is occurring in other '07 Escapes.
