Escape XLT 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 86,193 miles

I had just had a cv joint put in it and the whole exhuast and manifold gasket. When I pulled up to a stop sign it started to move forward. Then it came to a very hard stop and there was a grinding noises I've never heard before. I had to call a tow truck at the cost of $150. I had the cv joint removed and ordered another one.

When it was ready to put new cv joint the new one wouldn't go in. After looking over the knew one noticed the end of the older cv joint was busted off and still inside the hole. Looking into the hole there was a rod showing and that was stopping the cv joint from going in all the way. What pieces didn't get stuck in the hole are now somewhere in he transmission. Its looking like its gonna need a rebuilt or new transmission the cost being approx $3500 to $4000. I've had this Ford for 6 month and have already had to put all new exhaust system and cv joint and now a transmission.

I want to know who the hell is making these pieces of sh*t automobiles and getting away with not being responsible for their high priced products and failures. I've always been a Chevy person and I'm fixing to go back to buying Chevy only... Ford is said to stand for found on road dead and its true...Please somebody help me get this problem fixed..

Escape 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 91,000 miles

I am so furious over this car. The repair garage said there should be no reason that the transmission failed with 91,000 miles. I am the only driver of this car. I have never abused the car and have taken good care of keeping fluids clean etc.

About a month ago, it started hesitating in reverse. It would take about 5 seconds to engage or I would have to gas it to get it in gear. I am now facing 3,500 in repair.

I never will buy another Escape as long as I live.

There I ranted and YELLED>

Escape ES V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 66,000 miles

Bought the car from a Ford dealership with 21000 miles. At 66,000, 4.5 yrs after buying it, the transmission started to lurch into gear (felt like it was a manual stick popping into 1st). When stopped at traffic light and when I tried to accelerate there was no movement. The engine would rev, but the car was not in gear. I moved the steering wheel around, and slowly tried to accelerate again. Very dangerous while in middle of busy 2-3 lane intersection. It would eventually pop into gear, but when I stopped again it was out of gear and the process would start all over again. Would not move. Barely able to drive to a Ford dealership and they told me transmission had to be replaced. I was told my NEW warranty expired at 60,000 miles. Cost to me $3,000.00. Question: If Ford does the right thing here by it's customers, will I be grandfathered in and reimbursed my $3,000.00? I would even accept $1,500.00. I mean really, aren't they supposed to last longer?

Escape XLT 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,401 miles

I have a 2007 Ford Escape. After less than 18,000 miles my automatic transmission stopped working. The dealer told me I would have to pay the equivalent of $5,000 to fix it and at todays exchange rates I only paid $9,500 for the car new. In Venezuela, where I live, they only guarantee 24,000 miles or 2 years, whatever comes first.

I cannot see that I could have caused the problem so I'm at a standoff with Ford and they don't even answer me. I've been without the car for over a month. I like the car. I'm just angry that they expect me to pay so much for a problem that seems to be a factory defect. On the windshield there is a sticker that proudly says it was made in St. Louis MO. Has anyone else had this problem.?

Escape V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,447 miles

Bought the car from a Ford dealership with 42000km. Shortly after buying it the transmission started to lurch into gear (felt like it was a manual stick popping into 1st). I was driving it around 49000km and it felt like it was having a hard time getting past 80km. I slowed down with the traffic and when I tried to accelerate there was no movement. The engine would rev, but the car was not in gear. I moved the steering wheel around, restarted the car at it eventually popped into gear, but when I stopped again it was out of gear and I could not move. I had it towed to a Ford dealership and they are currently looking at it. I am not impressed. This is my first Ford and my last. What piece of junk.
