7 Month old Escape - starting a grinding/thumping noise in brakes - called dealership. Got the basic, "bring it in" response. Wanted me to rent a car for a few days so they could drive it around. I live in MI and I was in FL. No one else around to ride with for a few days. Told nothing wrong with brakes. Called home dealership, talked with service manager. "This is a problem with the brake pads, the noise will eventually go away, not a safety issue." Really? Then you drive the freakin' car! Idiot. This was my initial dealing with Ford, I added another complaint already about two cracked seals, tire complaint to come. Next car definitely not American. Had crappy service with GM also. Chrysler only good because of friends with owner of dealership.
