Escape LTD 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 14,500 miles

I took the car into the dealership where it was purchased because we were going to Tulsa, OK to visit my friend who had stage 4 lung cancer and we were afraid to attempt to drive the car that far. They were expecting lots of snow most of the way. During the Christmas holiday the Escape lurched forward while I was moving it and almost ran my daughter down. Thank GOD I had my foot on the brake pedal. There was a rough sounding noise deep down in the engine and it was running shaking the car. The service department checked it out and called me saying that they would have to order parts and would take 7 or 8 days to repair. Then two days later they called and said it was ready to go. We went down and raised a fuss because how could they possibly have fixed the car in two days when the repair was supposed to take 7 or 8 days. The service manager stepped up and reimbursed us for the car rental to go to OK. Ford approved it. As it turned out Tulsa had the worst blizzard in the last 100 years. We were stranded for 7 days in the hotel room. My friend died 15 minutes after we got there but because of the blizzard we didn't get to go to the funeral. Not long after we got home we filed papers under the lemon law thru the BBB because of the engine trouble and the five transmissions they put in and Ford offered us $1,500 to forget it on a Friday morning . Of coarse we said no. That same afternoon they offered us the full purchase price. We said YES.

Escape LXT V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles

Vehicle ran well before having an accident, since accident, the idle is rough, and vibrates while idling. Seems to not want to accelerate until you stomp on gas; poor gas mileage. Dealer tried to replace the idler pulley, same problem.
